  • Former Duke Star Laettner Faces Jail Time

Former Duke University basketball stars Christian Laettner and Brian Davis have been ordered to a Washington courtroom Friday to explain to a judge why they shouldn't be held in contempt.

If their answers don't satisfy the judge, Laettner and Davis could be sent to jail - an outcome that few could have predicted four years ago when they were basking in the success of their West Village development in downtown Durham.

Very interesting -- This is obviously the new way for the rich & powerful to get even far richer & more powerful...

Just start a business, get someone to loan you a ton of money (preferably the government - since
they aren't really using their own money and don't bother to check it so carefully)

...Then funnel the money away into hiding or spend it all recklessly but make sure you and your cronies get ultrawealthy,
and then claim it's all down the drain, DEFAULT on the loans, say all the money's gone, plead ignorance,
don't answer any questions, then FILE bankruptcy and let the taxpayers foot the bill!!!

Their real estate and money scam sounds a little like our local Firefly scandal and the Solyndra scandal

Laettner better hope that the judge is a Duke grad/fan.
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
