New Lindy's 2011-2012 Preseason College Basketball Preview
New Lindy's 2011-2012 Preseason College Basketball Preview
They have Creighton ranked #23 overall in the preseason ..
they also have Bradley picked 8th but DSE is 2nd Team All Conference and Taylor Brown is picked 3rd Team Link
As i have said to all, this is a 3 year rebuilding process IMO.
Any non Thursday night game is a huge win for Geno.
I have talked on campus to some personnel who feel the talent is better than last year already, but I think the loss of Will hurt any chance for major improvement.
Im very excited for the Process, which in the end, will result in benefits to all!
Anyone who says the talent is better already is talking more out of hopefulness than proven reality. I also hope it is true, but to make that claim before we even have a single official practice, let alone a single game, is way premature. Taylor being healthy will be a huge plus, but he would have returned regardless of the change in coaches.
I do not see anyone to replace Andrew Warren's shooting, or what Sam would have given at PG. And do we have a defensive stopper even as good as Dodie? And let's see if any of our new players can give us what Abell or Harris would have.
I agree 2 or 3 years is a more fair time frame to evaluate the rebuilding. I believe it will happen, but probably not this year.

Yeah, what happened to the posters who predicted Bradley would finish in the Valley top 3 this year? Kind of disappeared for the time being. It wouldn't shock me if Bradley did finish in the upper half of the Valley as Geno took a team of 9 new players and finished at the top of the MAC last year. But it was his third year there and he already had his system in place, plus the MAC is not as strong as the Valley, as Geno alluded to when he accepted the job here. But we'll see what happens.
If Bradley can beat the lower division Valley teams at home, split against them on the road, and maybe upset a top tier team or two at home, we can be talking 7 to 9 conference wins which would be a nice bump up from last year, and maybe even enough for a CBI type appearance, which while nothing to excite many fans about would still be a step up from the last two years.

Tough to read and I know what you'll say...don't read it. But I like to read what Bradley fans think. I guess being a Bradley fan, it's kind of silly of me to think that other Bradley fans may share the same optimism heading into the start of a new season Any specific posters in mind or just a random thought? Yeah!

I don't recall too many that are saying we're going to finish Top 3. I recall some thought we're capable - best case scenario, but most I believe are thinking somewhere betw/ 5th and 7th.

Oh I know there were some here thinking they could even make a run for the top of the Valley here after Geno was hired. I don't recall specifically who, but a simple search of the posts just after Geno was hired would uncover them pretty quickly.
And btw, I hope they prove me wrong and finish first. As Geno accomplished with almost all new players last year, anything is possible!
Way to many question marks on this team to predict top 3 IMO. We are lacking proven depth in the 4-5 spot and the 1. If certain guys step up and freshman play beyond their years then anything is possible. I've been around the block a few times to know better but then again I always start the season with huge expectations because I do wear rose colored sun glasses.

I just hope for three things with this team. First, win 7 to 9 games and at least be competitive in most games. Second, beat Wisconsin on a neutral court even if Bradley finishes with a mediocre record. And third and most important, beat the teams they have absolutely no business losing to, especially at home. That includes ISU red, SIU and whomever else finishes in the Thursday night slot.
It would have REALLY been interesting to see if Les would still have a job here had Bradley finished off ISU red in both games last year. The record would not have been that much better, but at least they would have showed more improvement. Defending the home court is the first thing we need to do to rebuild. We will probably win a couple on the road (this team even beat SIU last year at their place..go figure!). If we win 5 or 6 at home, we get to that 7 to 8 win mark which would be a nice improvement.
Definitely find this to be the best.....Sporting News had Illinois picked ninth....Lindy's has them 4th....I was flipping through Athalon but had to pee so bad I left.
Bradley: basically say have nice pieces but don't think they will be able to come together this year. looking forward to future.
MVC:
1. CU
2. WSU
3. ISUblue
4. DU
5. UNI
6. EU
7. MSU
8. BU
9. SIU
10. ISUred
don't think Drake will finish 4th...
IT is also really nice to see the MVC listed under "Majors" in the conference index.
