Recruiting ratings are alot like top 25 AP rankings during the first two weeks of the regular season. There's probably some truth to them, but you should take em with a grain of salt. So hard to gauge heart, work ethic, and leadership when these guys aren't even of voting age yet.

      Two words....Jeremy Richmond

Bradley was connected long ago to Hill but not for over a year...

Uh oh -- Beninator won't be happy...
This makes TWO guards for 2012 (Orris, Hill, & Jalen James) already in the fold next year (and one more for Illinois the following year in 2013 -Jalen James)
...that's added to DJ Richardson, Joe Bertrand, Brandon Paul, Crandall Head, Mychael Henry, Devin Langford, Tracy Abrams, plus a couple walk-in guards!

So, unless someone leaves before then, that will be 8 or 9 scholarship guards on the roster for 2012-2013 and beyond...

James and Hill won't be on campus til 2013-2014. By then Paul and Richardson will already be gone.

Au contraire, I would love for the Illini to go through the Big Ten season with an all guard team!
              Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

An interesting new premium story on Michael Orris describes him thus...

"Many believe that Orris is set to be a career backup at Illinois and provide
leadership, toughness and make everyone else better with his work ethic.
....Orris may not be ready to play as a freshman."

..then they go on to describe his defense and outside shooting as suspect & needing work...that he is just a backup or stopgap until they get something better..
They really want Larry Austin and believe they're going to get him...

There is value in that right there, especially since BW doesn't traditionally play more than about 8 guys in a rotation.
