As noted elsewhere, Bradley has a recruit on campus on an unofficial visit-
Class of 2013 guard Jared Brownbridge-

Jared Brownridge's visit went well, and he was impressed with Bradley's facilities. Anyone who says facilities don't make a big difference in recruiting is wrong. Without the new fcilities we have, we wouldn't have landed Ka'Darryl Bell, and we would have no chance at players the quality of Jared Brownridge.
Other players are slated for visits this month.

The NCAA recruiting calendar changes tomorrow, Friday Sept. 9. The current "Quiet Period" ends, and and open "Contact Period" begins. That allows for coaches to visit recruits off campus, at their school or at their home. I hear Coach Ford has plans to hit the road Friday morning for visits.

I saw Coach Ford at CEFCU on War Drive yesterday afternoon. Definitely sounded like he was getting ready to hit the recruiting trail this morning.

Very impressed with him so far, and man it was smart to keep Coach Scott around as well.

I'm excited to see what this year brings for us. GO BRAVES!!

I have word that Coach Ford is definitely on the recruiting trail this morning, but he didn't have to travel too far to see his first target. He is at Manual High School (along with several other D1 coaches). Coach Ford is there to visit A.J. Riley.

Rumor is that the Bradley women's team is hosting a very good recruit who is visiting this weekend.

Here is a novel way to impress a highly desireable recruit-
Yesterday, a bunch of top coaches (Bill Self, Tom Izzo, Thad Matta, Bruce Weber and various other coaches) were in Chicago to watch the #1 recruit in the class of 2013 Jabari Parker at a workout at Simeon High School.
Unlike the other coaches who rented cars and drove to the school, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski arrived with 2 of his assistants in a Limo, which stood out in the parking lot.

Here is a partial list of schools represented at Simeon's gym last pm to watch their players work out-
Chicago State, Colorado State, DePaul, Duke, Illinois, Illinois State, Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri State, North Carolina, NIU, Ohio, Ohio State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UIC, Valpo, and Xavier.

some recruiting info on Peyton Allen & AJ Riley

"Peyton Allen .. was slowed during this past AAU season by a variety of
              ailments, including a concussion.
“He didn’t play a whole lot. He’s got to go out and play,” Illinois Wolves
              director Mike Mullins said."

"Riley looks to draw more attention

AJ Riley, a 6-foot-2 junior point guard from Peoria Manual, has about 11 or 12
offers, Mullins said. Most come from schools in the Horizon League and
Missouri Valley Conference, such as Bradley, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois,
              UIC, Wright State and Creighton.

But he could be in line for some bigger attention with a solid junior season this winter.

“He’s a kid all the Big East, Big 12, Pac-10 and Big Ten schools are tracking,”
Mullins said. “He’s a terrific player. He had a great, great year for us, so I
think he’s just scratching the surface of how good he can be.”

                per his AAU coach...
"2014 PG 6'3 Marcus Bartley (Decatur MacArthur) will be checking out Bradley this afternoon!"

plus - per good sources, BU was also visiting Coty Clarke

I may be mistaken but their seems to be a lot more recruiting activity with GF than JL . Can any of you shed some light?

I would just guess that Ford is willing to allow his recruiting info to be more (much more) public then Les was.

That is the most significant difference I see. The previous coaching staff was also active recruiting, but it was mostly all done without publicity.

UIC just did what SIU did last year -- they landed two players from the same obscure eastern prep school...
UIC got verbals from Fishburne Military Academy center - 7-0 245lb Matt Gorski and 6-8 230 lb power forward Jake Wiegand

                        UIC beats out...
                        "UIPUI (sic) ...The Citadel...Hofstra...and UAB"

SIU got Breyer and Whitt a year ago

It would be nice to secure a 6-8 post player and either a great shooting guard or a good 6-6 wing player.
