along with Kurt Alexander for fifth degree theft. I honestly cannot remember a Drake player having been arrested recently. Or UNI for that matter. ISU and Iowa have owned the police blotter in the state of Iowa. Hate to see Rice make a bad choice.

hey -- I think this kind of offense is stuff every kid does - walked out and didn't think he needed to pay --
this is not malicious harmful behavior, assaults, drunken bar-fighting-kind-of stuff..
I'd give him a few games penalty then another chance.........
This must be at least 20 players either suspended or dismissed at SIU in Lowery's reign...
and it was predictable since the discipline has been pretty soft.Last edited by tornado; 09-03-2011, 05:36 AM.

That walks a real fine line between being criminal and just plain dumb. They were risking an awful lot to get very little. Hell, they probably spent more in gas money just to get out to Jordan Creek than the socks were worth.

Under Iowa law, theft in the fifth degree is the theft of property not exceeding two hundred dollars in value, and is a simple misdemeanor (Maximum jail term not to exceed 30 days; mandatory fine of at least $50 but not more than $500).

THEY STOLE SOCKS!!!!!!!!!
Red Alert better be ALL OVER THIS when Drake comes to town... socks need to be handed out to EVERY student in attendance!!!???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Rayvonte Rice and Kurt Alexander have served their suspensions and have been reinstated to the team-
Coach Mark Phelps said Monday he was still weighing further disciplinary action for them, which likely will involve missing some early games.
I don't expect any further suspension from games to last too long. Drake plays Iowa State at home on November 15, and I would be surprised if he misses that important game.
