    Freshman D.J. Gardner didn't last long at Mississippi State. Coach Rick Stansbury dismissed him today. After telling him he needed to redshirt, the freshman launched into a profanity-laced tirade on his twitter.-

    Mississippi State freshman D.J. Gardner has been dismissed by coach Rick Stansbury for "repeated actions deemed detrimental to the team."

      Good to see this being dealt with. Hasn't this program had more than it's fair share of player rebellion issues over the past few years? I remember when we played them in the NIT at their place they were supposedly an up and comer program.

        Yes, Rick Stansbury has always had the reputation of recruiting very talented players, but kids with some serious character issues. And most Miss. State fans think he is not a good game coach, and constantly gets outcoached, though he usually does well in the weak West Division of the SEC, and also does well outside of the SEC with the talent he has. Stansbury's Mississippi State teams have made the NCAA tournament 6 times since 2002, but have never won more than 1 game.
        They have had a lot of player turnover, transfers, and discipline issues.
