Top 50 recruit from Kentucky slams Pitino & Calipari and says they can't be trusted
Top 50 recruit from Kentucky slams Pitino & Calipari and says they can't be trusted
"I don??™t know if I can trust a Coach [Rick] Pitino or Coach [John] Calipari,??? Willis said.
???Their agenda is more for their benefit than the kid??™s. They??™re more worried about themselves."
That is technically the recruits father. The rumors are that his son who is currently committed to Purdue, is on the verge of backing out and is strongly looking at UofL and UK. Who knows if that will happen, but his dad seems to really like Painter and Purdue a lot. Can't say I blame them, its a great school, and Painter seems like a plenty good guy. I'm a UofL fan, and I know Pitino is of "questionable" character. Calipari is obviously a mess. It is what it is.

this is weird -- but now this very kid whose dad said those uncomplimentary things has decommitted from Purdue and is visiting Louisville (then presumably UK)...
looks like those comments were purely as a smokescreen to deflect suspicion that Cal & Pitino had called the kid and talked him out of his Purdue commitment
By all accounts, the father was serious. he legitimately doesn't seem thrilled about the whole thing and anted his son to stay at Purdue. The kid is however from the Louisville area, and wants to shop around. Whether Pitino, or Calipari talked to the kid a great deal before hand - I don't know. But most of the people I know seem to insinuate that the father was honest in his general distaste for UofL and UK.
