I guess I kinda agree with this one...
The kid, Hayden Humes, was at Toledo when Toledo was hit with some pretty severe penalites due to academic shortcomings and low APR and graduation rates..
Toledo was hammered by the NCAA taking away THREE scholarships -- but they had 11 guys already committed to 2011-2012 scholarships, so they picked the guy they thought they needed the least and took his scholarship away from him.
The kid could have been part of the team but he'd have had to pay his own way...so he decided to leave and transfer elsewhere...hoping to find a place to play his final seasons that could offer a scholarship.
We had a discussion a couple months ago about this..
Humes chose to transfer to UIC, and asked for a waiver to play immediately and not have to sit out -- he had already used his redshirt year.
Now the NCAA says he can play immediately...
