I am afraid that the NCAA will continue to add some newbie D-I's from time to time just so ISU will always have plenty of opponents for their home schedule..
And - every once in a while, a school drops out of D-I -
Centenary just dropped back to D-III
University of New Orleans also just dropped to D-III
Tulane has twice flirted with dropping out of D-I --- once just recently - the other time they actually did drop out of D-I basketball for five years
PLUS -- many, many other D-I schools have been dropping their money-losing sports like swimming, wrestling, track,. etc....so in some sports there are few schools left competing -- thus the influx of new D-I members might help alleviate that.
