  • What would be a successful campaign for BU to you this year?

We have made some changes and expectations for this team vary to some degree. The injury to WE could impact the expected results to some degree. Who needs to step up to make a large impact on this team. Will the new recruits help make BU a surprise team?

I had very high expectations, top 3, if JL was retained. Do we give GF a break? Are his recruits more a re-building project?

If AT steps up, we find a few shooters and just one of the freshmen steps in for some real meaningful minutes we can contend. Too me there are to many question marks on this team. TB is rounding back to form, a freshman will have to play meaningful minutes at PG, very little depth with bigs and no one has shown that they can rebound consistently. GF has his work cut out for him. While at Kent State he showed that he can take new teams in mold them into winners. I hope he can work the same magic.

A top half finish, good run in the Tourney, and a solid NIT appearance.
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

I would say a 4th place in the Valley would be successful. I 'd say 5th place would be realistic. Any post season run (NIT or NCAA) would be a total surprise.

Guards - DSE could have a big year, might be tough being the focus of other team's D, and we dont have an PG that has played college ball.

Bigs - Prosser coming off an injury and Brown coming back from a year off along with zero proven depth means trouble.

I think Ford is building a team that should contend soon, but realistically I don't see us finishing in the top half. Hope I am wrong.

A successful year for me would be restoring dominance at home, proving that we can hold a lead, and making noise in St. Louis.

I will be incredibly disappointed if we play on Thursday.

              Staying out of Thursday
              Sweep ISU
              Overall winning record
(we could theoretically get into an EIEIO tourney with any kind of winning record, so if we do it we do it but I'm not overly concerned with it. NIT would be nice but holy crap the NCAA has made it near impossible to get into that as a mid-major unless you were on the NCAA tourney bubble)

                This.

I would add that a successful campaign would include seeing tangible improvement from several of the players, as well as solid contribution from 3 of the Fab 5 freshmen.

To these, I would add becoming a dominant home team again. Too many teams (including some inferior ones) have come into CA the past few years and pushed us around. That needs to change!

I think we should finish in at least 5th place
We need to win all of our home games
                    Play better defense
                    Rebound much better
Hopefully be able to play more guys in the rotation
It is always exciting to see what a new coach can do as far as changing the offense and defense and what type of players he recruits to the program.

While I don't expect us to compete for league titles in the next 2 seasons, I would LOVE for us to remain in the hunt come Feb. 1st for a change - even if it means we're 2 games out of 1st place. That is more of a wish than an expectation this year, as I think we need to stay out of the Thursday play-in round for sure.

We need to make the Civic Center our HOME to defend, and like Geno said in his opening press conference, other teams should be a little timid coming to our house to play, thinking they need to play their best to have a chance to beat us.

I like what Geno's done at KSU, and if he's had that success in little time, I think he'll make an impact in 2011-'12. Some may differ, but our current core has the potential to be a Top 3 team, as our league looks so much weaker than 5 years ago. But, so many question marks with our newcomers and new coaching staff. And I would venture to say that more than half the Valley teams as are high up on their newcomers as we are. I think Geno will make better in-game adjustments than our previous coach, which will keep us in most games.

                      Here are my standards:

                      - .500 record or better in Valley play
                      - Winning overall record - only 1 home loss in non-conf. games
                      - Compete and stay close in almost all games
                      - Don't blow leads to eventual loss

                      Individual standards:
                      - Get the newcomers valuable minutes that will help them in years to come
                      - Big improvements in WL and AT
                      - DSE 1st team Valley player

Right on the same page with this one. Honestly though, if I can see good fundamental basketball, significant strides in some of the players, and just better overall functionality as a team I'd be very happy. No losses at home in the last 2 minutes, no epic defensive lapses, no chicken-with-their-head-cutoff offense when we are starting to lose a lead and can feel the panic setting in...no more of that...

This seems very reasonable. --Really hard to say as there are IMO a lot of unknowns out there.
