yay first UFO/Basketball thread in history.
The last two years I lived with some guys in an off campus house...they consistently would not want to go to HOME games with me and elected to watch them on TV at our house.... explain that to me? it started making me mad.
Riddle me this....if all you guys sign up for a January Interim Course (I am not sure if you can as early as the game is) wouldn't you technically be a student and get a student ticket....then you can just drop the course? Genius?

Because they realize it's bigger than that, they aren't competing for market share in wave runners, they are competing for the discretionary dollar. Bradley Basketball's competition isn't another basketball game, it's heading to the bars, or grabbing a movie, or hanging out with your buddies watching a movie. Bradley isn't competing against other live sports, they are competing for student's free time.
yeah....I'm not sure I agree with this either....Seadoo does compete with other manufacturers...people want a jetski they look at yamaha, polaris, kawasaki, or whatever.....they don't market to see how we stack up against a trip to Cancun or a new Corvette...
I do agree that BU basketball games are competing against the use of time not money

It's all about discretionary $$ or time...

Ask 100 buyers of Seadoos and see if they were going to spend the dough on a Vette or a jetski.....or ask a Vette owner if they almost bought a Seadoo.....now if you want to compare the jetski to a used boat, or a pontoon then I would agree but not a car or a trip

'Dad can't get a new truck because we just added a new deck, etc.'
I disagree that's all.....I really think its much more about the time why BU students don't go to games than about the money. They don't think it's worth their time to go..their may be a few exceptions of course but time seems to be more precious than money these days

BU is pretty isolated from the rest of Peoria and on those cold wet evenings it takes a bit of effort and planning to head on down the hill. I think it was worth it but today's kids just see things a bit different. The marketing promotion for the students should be based on this simple fact. Why should I leave my comfortable surroundings to head down to Carver? There has to be more then to support your team, especially when they are just not producing the wins. What part of illegal don't you understand?

Students can be creative and wish BU would allow them use that during the games as long as it's not in poor taste

Originally posted by Chico View PostThe vast majority of fans, real fans, in attendance at Bradley games are not graduates or even ex students of Bradley U. They were all young once and have been fans, real fans, for years. Young people have the chance to be involved. It's up to them. If we had to depend on the students it would be no ones team right now. Again, thank goodness for the blue hairs and their families.

I'm not making excuses just pointing out how they feel. That is a reality like it or not and BU marketing needs to address this. More and more people are feeling isolated these days. It is a fact of life going forward. Why do you think there are all these random shootings from unstable people? Do you think there were any less before? Times are a changing.
anyways this is just a props to the FH for giving us rides.
