  • Hall of Fame Nominations Sought

This is probably more for the General Sports Discussion area, but since this section gets so many more viewers, I thought best to post it here.

I will be accepting nominations for the Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2011-12 through July 31. Nominations may be submitted online through the Hall of Fame page at BradleyBraves.com, via fax (309-677-2626), email (bparker@bradley.edu) or traditional mail (Bobby Parker, Associate AD for Communications, 1501 W. Bradley Avenue, Peoria, IL 61625) -- website preferred.

Bradley Athletics Hall of Fame information: http://www.bradleybraves.com/ViewArt...&ATCLID=123050
    Nomination Form: http://www.bradleybraves.com//quest/...DB_OEM_ID=3400

As a reminder, student-athletes must be 10 years removed from their last Bradley competition, coaches and staff five years removed, and teams 15 years removed from their season of accomplishment.

    Thanks,
    BP

Is Anthony Parker in the BU HOF yet?

AP was elected a few years ago, but his actual induction is pending his availability. While we would love to induct him ASAP, we are happy to wait for his professional playing career to end, just as we did with Hersey Hawkins.

Is JC a candidate even though he still coaches? I'm not sure where he's at now, actually
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Wish I knew more of the other sports, but in Men's basketball I wondered if they won't attend can they still be inducted?

I know he was only here a short while and has not stayed in touch, but I think David Thirdkill is worthy of induction for his play, team accomplishments, and playing in the pros after his time here. I see Donald Reese,Willie Scott, and JJ Anderson on there.

Also I wonder if anyone thinks Luke Jackson merits nomination.

David Thirdkill has, by his own choice, divorced himself from Bradley and wants nothing to do with BU. He has refused invitations to return to campus, and does not want to be contacted by Bradley or anyone(according to his relatives). He is already in the HOF as part of the 1981-1982 NIT Championship team.
There is no way Bradley would honor him with HOF induction as an individual if he doesn't want anything to do with Bradley.

And Luke Jackson was a nice player, but I am not sure he was ever on the All MVC 1st or 2nd teams. I don't think he is HOF material, IMO.

OK, thanks for the answer. I had heard some of that situation. I just wasn't sure if he wanted nothing to do with Bradley the school. Or if he just didn't want to participate in any public ceremony.

If he no longer wants to be associated with BU then I guess the HOF would be a bad idea.

It doesn't change the fact I loved his style of play as a young kid growing up. I am glad I got to enjoy watching him play at least.

I guess I've got a few more years before I can nominate Alex Liberatore.
