Kaplan's take on the JL situation

Is there any doubt with most people that Goodmans "leak" was Les himself?
There has never been any solid evidence or proof that Jim Les leaked anything to Fox or ESPN, and yet the JL-haters don't ever seem to need actual facts to make up their mind about those things. In fact, it seems now the burden of proof is for anyone who doesn't accept it, or knows otherwise to prove it didn't happen. More evidence of how different the standards are for some.

Remember - when this happened on March 6, several Chicago news outlets had it first...
and even the Pantagraph had a FULL story by 4:46PM, while the PJ Star didn't find out 'til much later...
now we have yet another case of the Chicago press having the story first (although some on this board actually had it even before that!) -- kinda embarrassing to BU and the local media..

this is one of those "are you still beating your wife"-type questions...
This question can only be answered by saying not only is there doubt of such, but that it is highly unlikely it could have possibly been JL...since the Chicago people knew so early that the tip must have come from someone who knew it was happening as it was happening or even before.

I am not sure if I am being lumped in as a Jim Les hater or not. My personal feeling on Jim- I am glad he was here. I liked the way the players represented the University for the most part. I was very happy he landed another job, and think he is worth giving another chance to. Maybe 2 years ago when I saw people post that his job was in danger I said I thought he was closer to an extension than being fired. I changed my mind last year. I was ready to try someone else. I don't hate Jim Les though, that is just how this business is run.

Most fans agree that factors that were not in JL's control, such as innumerable serious injuries to key players contributed to the unsatisfactory results the last few years, though some of the haters can't acknowledge that because it would get in their way of their irrational hatred for JL. Most of us are 100% behind the new coach and staff, and have moved on. So anyone who wants to dump on the previous coaching staff can do so on other forums where it is welcomed and refined to an art form.
