  • Kaplan's take on the JL situation

I couldn't agree more with Kaplan's last paragraph.

"The bottom line is this, the school made a coaching change and that is their right. However, to treat one of the greatest players in school history like they have been since dismissing Les back in March is not just sad but it is embarrassing and flat-out wrong."

    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I kind of agree with what he says, From Bradley's point of view I say pay and get it over with. However, this is all a bunch of back and forth posturing. I can see the point both sides have.

As for Kaplan, I picture him as a puppet with Les telling him what to say. I really attach no importance to what he says.

That's silly with no basis in fact, and insulting.
This seems to always be the way some anti-JL fans react. They try to diminish the valid opinions of anyone who they disagree with by asserting that those people haven't got the ability to think for themselves and are just robotically being told what to think and say.

Well I just thought I'd clarify that I don't mean litterally telling him exactly what to say. I just think he is freinds and will totally take Jim's side. Other than that, I stand by my low opinion of Kaplan's comments.

Oh and yes it was meant to sound insulting towards Kaplan.

And hence the "opinion" part of message boards....

I disagree with many posts on here- but if it is someone's opinion, I try to not judge the person's opinion....
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

someone should tell Kaplan that UC-Davis is NOT the "Miners" -- they are the "Aggies"..

It also seems to be the way some pro-JL fans react (i.e., by diminishing the valid opinions of people with whom they disagree). Perhaps it's just human nature and an integral part of a healthy debate. As pointed out in a previous post, it's also part of the appeal of a message board.

Smart people form their opinions based on facts and not some fantasy fabricated in their minds to justify their own bias.

If you're talking about me, how is it my bias when I say I agree with the general statement. I just disregard this source as being of any value since he is biased. How can it be my bias when I agree that we should pay him?

My statement applies to everyone, LC.

I'm not gonna accept someone's opinion just because this is a message board where anyone can type whatever they want for any reason. A little thought and factual evidence would be nice when one shares an opinion.

IIRC, Kaplan was all over Bradley when they fired Les as well. So, there is a precedent.

I don't know enough about the contract situation to form an opinion to know of he is right or wrong about the contract (I doubt any of us actually do), but there is a pro-JL, or anti-BU precedent, for what it's worth.

And you can add the circumstantial evidence of JL working for Comcast in the weeks following his firing.

What does it all mean? Maybe nothing, maybe something. No one really knows.

There are some parts of article in which I disagree with what Kaplan wrote. However, I agree with the majority of the article. I like Kaplan, but I don't judge or make friends with people solely on their opinions.

Pretty obvious it's a biased article which is fine...I don't give him much credence
