Auction for Shocker fans

We've all seen the biker TV shows where they build or restore nice bikes and then sell them for a great cause...

well...they did that in Wichita -- a nice motorcycle was souped up and customized, and
"signed by Wichita State basketball coach Gregg Marshall and the entire 2011 NIT championship team"
...then given to the 5th Annual Gregg Marshall Golf Classic and Auction..to sell...

Then they put it up for auction and it got no decent or acceptable bids.
What gives?
The bike was worth at least $15,000 - which was more than the amount the bike shop ended up paying to the auction to buy their donated bike back.

Correct. Also throw in commodity prices that have increased as well which has affected disposable income. I have participated in a few auctions in the memorabilia market this year, and can tell you first hand that the auction market is hit and miss. Some realized prices are down 30-40% from their highs a few years ago. But if you have the money, and are patient, a lot of deals can be had.
