if ISU is ever gonna expand and have a branch in Peoria - then I would not be happy about this...
ISU over in Normal, IL is trying to make the city & the taxpayers pony up and PAY FOR nearly
half the $1.2 million cost of renovating their football field just because they believe it will make the main "corridor" look prettier!!
Apparently the Normal mayor is on ISU's side - hmm...

Reportedly these include people who are no friend to Bradley....
and here are some other examples -
ICC expanded from just an East Peoria campus to having downtown Peoria and a North Peoria campuses..
U of I had a "Chicago Circle Campus" but it grew so much it is now an independent university (UIC)...
Northwestern also has a CHICAGO campus - LINK....
Purdue placed a campus just outside the south Chicago suburbs - Purdue Calumet Campus
even private schools, Robert Morris University - which already had Chicago & Springfield campuses, is now very active promoting their Peoria campus...and Lewis Univ. has a Chicago Campus.
There has long been talk that it might happen with ICC affiliating with University of Illinois in Champaign - and developing an idea for a U of I campus in Peoria as a state school...
here's an article about that very idea from just last fall -

prexy - that is confusing - the med school grads from Chicago don't get a diploma from UIC - they get a diploma from University of Illinois..
and the branches of the Med School in Peoria & Rockford also grant degrees that are from University of Illinois

The idea of a new 4-year school in the Peoria area might get a boost
as a four year undergrad school nearby in Springfield is closing all their undergrad programs.
Springfield Benedictine University is closing all their undergrad programs - they will still have some online, adult undergrad, and graduate programs..
WESTPORT — Pine Hill Gas and Convenience Inc. can now sell beer and wine at its Pine Hill Road location. The store’s proposal drew no opposition at Monday's selectmen's meeting but might have attra…
I believe their basketball team has played a few current MVC teams - mostly exhibitions

Peoria State University?
State University of Peoria?
State University of Central Illinois? (be thankful it's not Kentucky)
This is likely a dead topic since there's just no way the finances would allow a new state school - but this article from last month indicates almost all the other state schools have truly serious financial issues...
and that there's even talk of perhaps closure of one
