I would have taken an option between don't care and hate if available too. I followed them while Pruitt was there since we went to high school together, but I really don't like them as a university.

Only legit and good team they have at Illinois right now is the Mens golf program and after that it drops off big time.... Go Braves, Fighting Saints and my favorite childhood team the Gators....

I've been an Illini fan since the days of Harv Schmidt when they played on local CBS affiliate....I can still here the Glass Specialty commercials during a crunch time timeout.....and even though I lived only 30 minutes form Peoria I didn't know BU even existed....

So I'm 100% for both as I've been much closer to BU program in the last 25 years.....

That's not really true. The US News rankings are terrible in that regard. In the Big Ten alone an engineering degree from Northwestern, Michigan, and Purdue (probably Penn State too) will get you further on average. Particularly Northwestern. The US News rankings are good, but hardly truly accurate, they weigh too heavily too many things that don't matter. Not to mention they way they rank the schools is ridiculous, look how much easier it is to get a job out of Rose Hulman than U of I...

Notre Dame's on top of them all!
'Bout to throw up now, BU-Fanatic!
Hate ND with a passion! Them and U of Miami in football.

              College Hoops:
              1) BU BRAVES
              2) SIU (unless BU plays 'em - loved their teams in early to mid-2000's; Tatum, Brooks, Young, Owen, Hairston, Dearman, Williams (sorry - loved their spunk & mocksy)
              3) U of Illinois

              College Football:
              1) U of Illinois (though they stink)
              2) Iowa (grew up liking their style)
              3) Northwestern ('cause I got a lotta' friends in Evanston!)

Hate to burst those Illini fans but nationally speaking their popularity is not very high and I'd bet there are a few Big Ten teams with greater national notoriety.
