  • Off Season Random Poll - Your feelings on U of I Basketball

How do you feel about U of I basketball?

I AM HUGE FAN. Big enough to the point that I would rather Illinois beat Bradley if Bradley had no tourney hopes, and losing to Bradley would screw Illinois...(i. e. in Vegas)

They were the only one of the five colleges that I applied for that spurned me for admission. I wasn't a fan then, and I will never be a fan. I'm Bradley and UND (Football) till I die and I'm going to Valpo so that should say something.

(Btw, I got in to University of Tennessee at Knoxville and University of Oklahoma-Norman, both State Universities, but I couldn't get into my own?)
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

I took the route of applying to the Liberal Arts and Sciences college for chemistry. (I didn't know they had a top 7 undergrad chem program) But I think just because it was liberal arts and science...I got in.

        That sucks though. Sorry.

Oh shoot, apologies, didn't know anyone was an alum on here, that was quite harsh haha All respect to their alums! I applied directly to the College of Business, a mistake so I'm told haha

ohhh hahaha! I had some friends that went to Bradley that could have gone to Illinois for financial reasons, they were pretty broken up about not going to Illinois, but I think they'll like it out at BU.

I just wasn't ready to ditch Peoria...i guess.

yeah Illinois ended up costing like 5,000 more a year, i would have just amassed more loans

You needed an option between don't care and hate. I don't hate them, but I like them a little less than "don't care."

I'm a bit similar to BuFanatic, in that U of I was one of the schools that I applied to that didn't accept me... I also applied directly to the business school. It probably shouldn't have bothered me (and I got over it in time), but I was accepted to several schools that have better business programs, in my opinion. That planted the seed, that grew into dislike with all the fair-weather P-town Illini fans who didn't care until 04-05 season and then acted like they'd breathing and sleeping Illinois basketball there whole lives and were intent on looking down at BU. Hehe, my feelings eased when we got 'em in Vegas, and until they man up and play us again, I can have my foolish feeling of disdain for them.

My signature below says it all... The funny thing is that I applied and was accepted at UIUC, but chose to go out of state first. Then transferred to Bradley. I will make an exception for my UIUC status this year since SM is on the team.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

If it's only basketball we're talking about here, I'm 100% pro-BU and don't really care about Illinois. However, I'm going to keep an eye on Sam next year.

I do absolutely hate seeing people wear Illini gear to BU home games!!!

I don't like UoI but don't hate them. The one thing that bothers me is their reluctance to play Bradley and many other in-state programs.
I can do all things through pasta, which strengthens me.

I hadn't been posting much lately but felt the need to weigh in on this thread.

Not only do I hate UIUC.... but I hate UIUC fans. Heeheee.
