It takes a bit of an adjustment period for them to become consistent contributors. I'm not sure who our other 5th starter will be but it should be fun to watch these guys.

Shayok/TB/Prosser at the 3-4-5. DSE could be at the 1 or 2. Ideally the two, but it depends who our strongest fifth starter is. If they're more of a shooter, then DSE to the point.

My guess? Tough, but I'd like to see Lemon at the 2!
Watching some KSU games, I don't see how JE or especially WL crack the starting 5. JP, TB, and DSE are no brainers, I think GF will fill the other two spots with 'his guys.' From all accounts SS is a talent that can't be denied a shot at the starting line-up and I've been convinced JC is his answer at the guard spot opposite DSE. I thought it'd be DS but I was talking with a friend of mine, went back did some reading, asked around, and now I agree JC will be given a shot to be 'the man,' In regards to two freshman, I don't think GF will hesitate for one second to start 2 frosh. He had a completely new team last year and won the conference. I don't think he'll shy away from new players at all, especially because if he does, it'll effectively be the same as last year talent wise(swap AW for TB)...

      SS
      TB
      PROSS Best chance to win.

Why did DS not want to play in the IBCA all star game? Anyone know?

He was our best on ball defender last year and I'd have to believe that will be a big plus in GF's system. We will need a shooter in the lineup when it is all said and done, otherwise teams will just pack it in.
Who was the "shooter" our S16 year?
Statistically, it may of been Ruff but he only made .342 of his 90+ attempts. I think a healthy DSE can do that.

I'll go fo the inside-outside versatility and athleticism.
I agree that if they are ready, DSE, TB and JP start.
SS would be a great addition (but do we have a productive backup forward to fill in the remaining 20 mpg?)
JC or WL would make for a crazy-athletic lineup, and either could be dangerous as a 6th man.

In 2005-2006, Ruffin was 34-94 from three for 36.2%
              We also had:
              Marcellus Sommerville 59-164 (36.0%)
              Will Franklin 17-47 (36.2)
              Tony Bennett 29-85 (34.1%)
              Overall, Bradley was 185-551 (33.6%) in 2005-2006.

We return only 1 player who shot better than 30% last year- Walt Lemon, who was 11-34 (32.4%). The combined 3-point shooting percentage among those returning from last year's team is 46-166 (27.7%).

Just from clips, pictures, last season...

                DSE
                Crawford
                TB
                Shayok
                JP

that might work and we've got some depth
things could be good, it'll be fun to see.

If you take the the last 10 games of the season (minus the last one without JP), BU actually played pretty well with the talent we had. We still lacked depth, but with DSE (especially) & JE coming around, that made a huge difference.
I like our talent in these core guys (DSE, JE, TB, JP) - throw in WL too, and some of us believed in them last year even when we were sitting at 0-11 in conference...well, we didn't have TB, which was a BIG loss. IMO, he is irreplaceable, and will make a difference. We will miss AW, and it will be hard to find a solid outside shooter like AW for this coming season.

My point is that if we play the 5 guys above with whoever else (and the other guys are somewhat productive and our PG's can hold their own), I have little doubt we will play at least as good, if not better, than we did last year at the tail end of the season.

Guarantee, barring injury, Crawford will be a starting guard next season. He's the most talented newcomer and likely most talented player on the team.

I was under the impression that it would be Shayok...... What are your impressions of him scout?

From everything I have heard, Shayok is easily the most talented of the newcomers. Crawford is the most athletic player we have had in several years, but I do not see him playing as much as Shayok,

I get the feeling who starts won't be all that important. Without pure shooters I see us running quite a bit and playing quite a few players.

SS and TB both will be matchup problems for other teams.

all that said...SS,TB,JP,DSE,and either WL or JC

That is pretty much how I'm seeing it. We will need to put a ton of pressure on the ball at all times and that takes a lot out of a player. I expect to see this team go 9 deep consistently. There's no reason we should not. I also expect to see JP and AT getting 15-20 mpg apiece.
