Former BU recruit Iman Shumpert went #17 to the Knicks. Colin Cowherd spoke on Shumpert today when referring to the Knicks and their GM situation with Donnie Walsh stepping down. Cowherd says "He can't shoot, can't handle the ball, but is athletic and can play defense, just what the Knicks need"

But then I'm not sure the Bulls needed to trade to move up to get Nikola Mirotic. He might have been available at #28, #30, or even #43 if they had waited. I suspect they were worried New Jersey would grab him at #27. I guess the Bulls wanted to simply unload those other picks and didn't want any other players beside Jimmy Butler.

From the hot and dry southwestern desert....
Phoenix Suns should benefit from drafting Markief Morris....could help them immediately with interior defense and rebounding...
Just got to keep Nash and Hill together with chewing gum and duct tape next season.
Would be nice for Suns to pick up a more consistent outside jump shooter...BUilding for the Future

Originally posted by Da Coach View PostHouston had already agreed with the Bulls to draft Mirotic at #23 and trade him to the Bulls for draft picks #28 and #43. However, because of some rule the NBA has that prohibits the trade from being official until after the draft, the teams that initially owned the draft picks have to make the picks, then after the draft is completed, the trade can be completed. But in essence, it was the Bulls making that #23 pick of Mirotic, and Houston making the #28 & #43 picks.Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

That is exactly what the Bulls need, but I don't see anyone in this year's draft that fills that need.
It seems the pure shooters never are athletic enough to satisfy NBA coaches and execs (i.e. Kyle Korver), and the NBA prospects never seem to be great shooters.
A man's got to dream, doesn't he?
Perhaps via trade/future draft picks:
Aaron Afflalo Denver
DeMar Derozen Toronto
Nick Young Washington
Monta Ellis Golden StateBUilding for the Future
