  • More campus visits coming

I have heard Coach Ford has a number of other campus visits lined up with recruits in the days ahead.
Next is a high quality 2013 big man from a Chicago school who will visit campus Thursday (6/23). This kid is a stud, and is very interested in Bradley. He will be making an unofficial visit to meet the coaches and tour the campus and facilities, and scrimmage in an open gym with some of our players.
We can't post a name yet, but feel free to discuss or PM me for info.

He may end up being a stud, but he isn't at this point in time. Great upside, no doubt, but he's raw (coordinated though). His extraordinary length makes up for his average explosiveness. Very similar to another player from the same high school who the experts say hasn't yet played up to his potential. He's definitely a highlight reel player, but his motor and assertiveness need some work.

Don't get me wrong though; this is a kid that any Valley coach would welcome with open arms at this point of his development.

Just curious who it is? (Not that I'll have heard of him anyway)

Seems like Ford administration very open, which is a nice development.

Yesterday, Bradley was visited by Miles Simelton, a 2013 guard from Oswego, IL HS. He is a 5'10", super quick point guard, the type of PG Coach Ford prefers to run his offense.

And today, Thursday 6/23, Bradley is scheduled to get a visit from 6'8" power forward Alex Foster, a 2013 recruit from Chicago De La Salle High School.

Due to a late schedule conflict, Alex Foster is not visiting today. He'll come next week.

Any chance that Alvin Ellis or Jaylon Tate make a visit, too?

Those are 2013 teammates of Alex Foster's on the De La Salle high school team, and on the Meanstreets AAU team.
I have not heard they are being recruited by Bradley.

                Tate is transferring to Simeon.

talk about rolling your sleeves up and getting to work! When's the last time we have had this much activity on the campus???

I think we've had similar levels of activity during the JL era. I just think he wasn't as opened with the media and insiders as Geno and the current staff have been. I hope it continues to be this way, it makes the off-season a lot more fun!

yes, we did -- but the timing is different because of new NCAA recruiting limitations from May thru July - there have always been weeks when we'd have different kids on campus but they weren't able to work out in a nice facility and the previous coaching staff kept all recruiting info as close to the vest as possible.....

But you have to know that the NCAA rules on viewing kids during the AAU season have changed. The period from the end of the school year until July now are off limits for D-I coaches to view kids -- that's why there were D-II, D-III, juco, and NAIA coaches sitting and watching at the Richwoods shootout and AAU events, but no D-I coaches (unless their own kids were playing)...

During the May-June-July period, now the coaches stay on campus more and host the kids here, and maybe broadcast it openly a bit more...

                          Not close

This is totally different...when was the last time JL had 2 top 100 kids in the country on campus??NEVER...This is not even close..you want to talk about a staff rolling up the sleeves and using all its resources. Kuddos to them all...things are changing.

While tempting, continuing to compare current staff to former staff this will only encourage the endless tit for tat from the pro vs con crowd and is counter prouctive.

Let's just enjoy and celebrate what is happening now, keep our fingers crossed some of the kids coming through commit to playing for BU, and hope BU wins more games this coming season.

JL WAS positive for BU in more ways than just W-L. Lets chose to remember/celebrate his successes, celebrate positive things happening now, and refrain from future comparisons.
