I've rethought in favor of SEMO also. I was thinking it'd be good to use RC near holidays since those games are often poorly attended... But I'd think the better idea would be to get a game that may be poorly attended, but while students are on campus to go. SEMO's a better fit in that regard.

Don't forget.....two of those six games could be played at the new arena.

up to two of those games already mentioned might be at the Renaissance Arena...

Here is the NCAA rule on how many games can be scheduled...in addition to two exhibition contests (either games against non-D-I's or closed scrimmages)

          Here's the NCAA rule...

Maximum Contests ??“ An institution shall limit its total playing schedule with outside competition to one of the following (except for those contests excluded under Bylaw 17.5.5.1.1):
          A. 27 contests (games or scrimmages) and one qualifying regular-season multiple team event per Bylaw 17.5.5.1.1; or
          B. 29 contests (games or scrimmages) during a playing season in which the institution does not participate in a qualifying regular-season multiple team event.

Maximum contest exemptions include the following:
          A. Conference Season-End Tournament; Postseason Tournament; Conference Playoff; Automatic- Qualification Contests; NCAA Championship Play-In Competition; One regular-Season Contest against Alaska/Hawaii Member; in Women's Basketball - a Foreign Team in the U.S. &/or a USA Basketball Club; Exhibition against a Non-NCAA Division I Four-Year Collegiate Institution; and An informal practice scrimmage with outside competition.
          B. An institution may participate in a foreign basketball tour once every four years, in accordance with the procedures set forth in Bylaw 30.7.

So -- since the currently released non-conference schedule has 12 games -
PLUS -- there will be 18 MVC games
          and there'll be a Bracketbuster
That makes 31 games - or 27 plus the 4-game exempt tourney --

so the only games left to be revealed are the exhibitions there can be no further regular season games scheduled.

Ha, so those are officially NCAA "play-in" games

So we could still schedule a Hawaii and/or Alaska school?

I can support a SEMO or WCU at RC, and a exhibition. Nothing more. The rest should be at Carver.........I hope.

As for the schedule, not bad. You need a cupcake or two mixed in with a few challenging road/neutral site games.

Can anyone remember the last time we had 2 guaranteed games vs. Big 10 schools on the schedule in the same year? The opportunity for big wins this year is pretty decent.

I don't believe anything other than exhibitions should be played at RC. I would certainly not understand if they scheduled a game there during break (Western Carolina).

We may have 6 games in the 2nd half of December - from Dec. 15 - Dec. 31

That'll keep the staff & student-athletes on their toes during the holiday season...and class finals season!

I could see us playing 2 exb. games at R.C and the Sunday opener as attendance on Sundays at Carver has never been very good, I know with the new coaching staff it would be hard to open the season at the R.C. so I doubt that happens , once again BU needs to be careful in not upsetting their fans by playing a game in a place that might leave some not being able to get a ticket .

I believe the number of season tickets sold outnumber the available seats at the RC, so any game would leave some unable to get a ticket. If not, then that's just a sad statement if Bradley Basketball is unable to sellout a regular season game at a new on-campus arena!

You are right- it has been many decades since the number of season tickets has been less than 4,200 (the approximate capacity of the renaissance Arena). So by default, any game there would have to be excluded from the season ticket package. I suppose that could still be a regular season game. The season ticket renewal package did not guarantee the season ticket deal covered all home games.

sg -- I predict there will be games that are not sellouts--- here's why --

of the lesser desirable games on the schedule -- up 'til now everyone who wanted season tix had to buy for all games..but that's why there were a lot of no shows.

If a fan has maybe 6 seats in his season ticket plan he may want only two or possibly NONE for a game like Western Carolina or North Dakota if it's at the RC...thus I think some will be surprised at how few might show up..

Do we NOT see the precise same phenomenon during NIT/CBI/CIT post-season home games??
These are even TOURNAMENT games that mean something as compared to preseason games against a North Dakota or SEMO...and yet we have had such home games with 4000 or less.

Really , when have we had less then 4,000 other then Creighton and ISU Blue several years ago?

I am convinced there were less than 4000 (butts in the seats) at the APU game 3/18/09
