Do you think this is true even when the new coach doesn't really seem to want the recruit, and doesn't make a strong effort to re-recruit him?

Ex-BU recruit Sean Harris is now reportedly back and has already begun play in his first exposure event for D-I coaches to see... There will...

It is unfortunate Sean thought he had a spot locked up at BU from JL, and that GF wasn't as impressed with Sean as JL was. He was kind of hung out to dry in the middle of his mission.

Unfortunately this happens when coaches change. Recruits pull the same stunts with coaches too.
I don't know where you are getting info, but it's all wrong.
GF was unfamiliar with SH, and had never seen him. I suppose most coaches would like to see a kid before they commit a scholarship to him. Nonetheless, Bradley would have honored the LOI for SH, except Sean asked for the release. In the end SH felt he was better off getting the release from Bradley, as most recruits do when there is a coaching change. Unlike with Remy Abell, Bradley's new coach did not meet with SH to try to re-recruit him. No need to try to make something sinister out of it.

Because he wasn't even in the country at the time, right? I mean... this one makes sense from all angles:

From SH's point of view: The coach who recruited me across the country is no longer there. A lot has changed over there. None of the same assistants. Now there's a new guy, and new assistants... I haven't really met any of them... they don't seem super eager about me like Les was... I think I'll stay where I know I have a coach I can trust and then see what my options are.

From Geno: A kid is supposed to come in the fall who hasn't played organized ball in 2-3 years... I can't get even meet the guy because he's not back in the country for a few weeks/months. I have a lot of recruiting to do and have a few good leads on others who may be a similar role for the team. We'll honor his commitment if he'd like to come, but I'm not pushing that. I have lots of other stuff to worry about, and I'll let this guy make his own call on what he feels is best for him.

I think both sides are legit, I think both guys did the right thing. Sean Harris may blow up... and maybe BU recruits him after this year. Bradley either has a significant leg up (because he already liked it before, and its even better facility-wise now), or is already out of the running (due to Coach Corn's relationship with JL or this alleged lack of interest from Geno).

Either way... good luck, Sean. Sorry the circumstances weren't different to make your return as smooth as you had originally planned for it to be.

I'm happy with our freshman class the way it is.
