By a very small and select minority. Those people were wrong and did nothing to help the program. I believe a coach should be given a clean slate and also be given 3-5 years to see what he can build. After 5 years if the program is going nowhere then a change needs to be contemplated.

Agreed. Remember it took Dana Altman until his fourth season just to get Creighton to the NIT. We all know what happened afterwards.

Almost every coaching hire in any sport at any level at any institution comes with criticism no matter which way you look at it.

And honestly, this is not to be a shot so I apologize if it comes out that way, had it not been Jim Les (who was one of the best guards in BU history who took the Braves to a high level as a player), who was hired but had the same coaching qualifications as he did how would the reaction have been? I know this is beating a dead horse, but seriously there was such a double standard its not even funny.

I think your parenthetical allows for somewhat of a double standard, but so what? I think it is the right move to give one of your own a look. That's how people get a job without any experience...they know someone who gives them a chance.

That's how things work jrish. It's why Presidents and CEO's get elected when the do....... It's a timing thing. As I said before, Les was in the right place at the right time; he was exactly what BU needed 10 years ago....... not so much today. An alumni with no experience probably wouldn't get a sniff today.
