  • Bad injury news, again?

I am just hearing that the players are all back on campus and got together in the practice gym last night for their first open gym scrimmage. Taylor Brown and Jordan Prosser were the only ones that didn't play as they continue their recoveries.

But, as if WE haven't had enough of these problems over the past 5 years, there was an injury to one of our key returning starters that could be serious. Let's hope and pray for the best as he goes for an MRI today.

This is truly unfortunate and blows away the silly argument by some that bad injuries were somehow the fault of the previous coaching staff -

In a couple days - more will be known but for now -- let's just hope for the best

I was hoping for an injury free season... I wonder if we will be allowed to cite an injury as a reason for the team not performing well with a new coach in place?
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I would assume so. After all, people have been allowed to use Sammy's departure as a reason already.

How about this...we all continue to hope for the best for Will and not use this as another point of argument or a chance to say I told you so.

So an unofficial open gym will rule out another medical redshirt season for Will right? Or how does that all work?

                Another injury to WE?

Who would have thought, BU injury curse must not have been the coach

Of course we all know the real BU injury curse is the "Danny Granger" curse!

Until BU burns his jersey, or image, at Carver on center court.........

The circumstances surrounding an injury (summertime open gym vs. game) do not have any bearing on a redshirt decision. The NCAA rules only allow 1 "redshirt" year and athletes only have 5 years to complete their 4 seasons of eligibility (this is Will's 5th year at Bradley).
So if an athlete is injured in Will's situation and cannot play, he would have to rely on the good will of the NCAA to grant a special exemption and allow a 6th year like they did for Sam Singh.

Saw him this morning when I went in to get my cortizone shots in my knees but couldn't get any news about the injury. Here is hoping that it isn't major and he can be ready to go at least by the middle of Oct.

All of these injuries must have been previous admimistrations fault-they wil blame anything on Bush won't they.

I think we should all relax until we here how serious this is.

I see no evidence of anyone panicking or being un-relaxed -- nobody has yet said the sky is falling -
just simple discussion of the initial report and wishing him well..

Terrible news for Will. Let's hope Will can make a comeback like he did with the last injury.

If anyone is unable to see the PJ Star story, PM me and I'll fill you in.
