Mountain West Conference rebrands itself

The Mountain West Conference has spent $250,000 to redo it's brand and image.
They have a new logo (see below) and slogans. The logo is titled "The Rock".
The new slogan is "This is our time"....whatever that means.
I think it is all a little silly. The logo looks like it was designed by a school kid, and does not even include the word conference, or the name of the conference, just a couple letters. And the slogan is a little arrogant sounding. Good luck. I hope it takes off as well as the Big Ten's vaunted effort to re-name their 2 divisions.

I like the old logo much better than the 2nd. Trying to be a little too cute, IMO. Anything is better than B1G, though.

Wow, that is awful. I understand trying to streamline and rebrand,
but I thought the MWC already had one of the better conference logos.
Makes me glad we have what we have. I really love our conference logo.

Don't know how old everyone is who has posted here on the new MWC logo, but perhaps it is a generational thing?

It may be some of us, me included, aren't the "target audience" the MWC is hoping to attract with their rebranding..

My folks thought the Beatles and Rolling Stones were awful....

Does anyone think they might have done it on purpose? I mean, we have talked way more about it than the old logo. Boise St has their football turf, Oregon has their basketball court, the Big 10 has their division names, & the MWC now has their logo. Just head scratching decisions that people discuss at the water cooler.
