MVP Player of the Year Kyle Weems a transfer candidate?

MVC POY Kyle Weems will be a 5th year senior, and is on track to graduate before the beginning of next year. That has fueled rumors that he might be a candidate to transfer from Missouri State under the NCAA rules that allow 5th year seniors who have graduated to transfer without sitting out a year. But he is not planning on going anywhere.

As a fifth-year senior on pace to possess an undergraduate degree before fall classes begin, Weems could transfer to another D-I program and not sit out.

So if BU recruit Nate Wells redshirts his Freshman year at BU to improve physically, he could bail on BU after 3 seasons for, say, Iowa, if he stays on track with his education, and turns out to be good enough to start for Iowa?

Seems like a loophole, uncharacteristic of the NCAA. Would make sense if a coach leaves the team after a graduated senior's fourth year at a school, but doesn't in other situations.
