I know the family personally, they are all from Metamora....Jen is the daughter of 1940's Bradley basketball player Bobby Garber, and is the brother of the ICC head women's basketball coach Steve Garber who took over for Lorene Ramsay several years ago...

Here's a one-year followup on former long-time BU women's basketball assistant Jeni Garber
who is just now entering her 2nd year as head coach at Quincy Univ...
In her first year at Quincy - she took over a good team but a team that had just lost their 3 best players.....so it was uncertain how she'd do.
BUT Jeni had a great year - including 22 wins - almost defeating Drake at Des Moines, and a 15-3 conference Championship season to go with yet another trip to the NCAA Post-season tournament...
Jeni was also named Coach of the Year....appears she didn't need a few years to "get her players in place" and rebuild...
They get another shot to beat Drake - -playing there on November 2

It is always easier to win when a program is used to winning. Building something is MUCH more difficult when players on the team have never had success.
But, I know you will keep taking unnecessary jabs at Coach Ford. Give the guy time. If, after a couple more years it is obvious that he isn't the guy...then by all means, make another change.

I don't think there was any doubt she would do a good job....especially taking over for previous Coach of the Year JD Gravina who had a 4 year record of 93-28.....
I had the good fortune of coaching Jessica Vaughn from Glasford who was on that team several years ago during the summers. One of the hardest working girls I've seen
