  • White out crowd promotions

If you are watching the NBA games, you are probably tired of seeing all the color-coded crowd promotions at Miami, Oklahoma City, Dallas, and other cities.
It is getting a little old. Here is a Sports Illustrated writer's thoughts-

I really don't get this. It makes the arena look cool. It makes a better home court. BU does it (not as effectively). What's the issue? Should we not do organized cheers like B-U? And rather just cheer whatever we individually want?

I think that the --insert color here-- out is a novelty that has run its course.. It is time to move on to something new. jmho
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Actually, it doesn't really bother me...

'cause I don't really watch the NBA.

But - yes, it is becoming overdone.
I hope the Cubs never do a "Blue out" at Wrigley.

I wouldn't mind BU doing this 2 times a year at most. The black-out vs. ISU (red) a couple years ago was pretty cool, though some would strongly disagree.
If you go to a BU game, I think 3/4 of the arena should already be red or white.

I think the haters on this board are just JEALOUS because these NBA fans know how to do a "color-out"

Bradley is bad at it because half the lower bowl will refuse to put on a XL t-shirt over their "game outfit" they spent time preparing.

          I think it looks cool.

I am not a St.Louis Cardinals fan but when you see the Cardinals play at home most of the stadium is in Cardinal attire, it really is impressive, the only way Bradley can get a lot of its fans to wear Bradley gear is to have these promotions, I must have at least 8 to 10 Bradley shirts and sweatshirts so I do not need the free stuff but more then 50% of our fans do not buy BU gear so in order to give us a better home court look we need to have these red outs; I say red because it looks much better .

I disagree- Bradley fans have done it quite well. A lot better than many college arenas where I have seen it.
Check out the pictures below of Red-outs, White-outs, and Stripe-outs-

                Red out-

The red looks more impressive then the white in my opinion and yes most of the fans wear the shirts.

How about "Shirts vs Skins Night"? half of the arena wear red shirts and
                            the other half wear .....

The story link might of mentioned this but what distracted me in the OKC/Dallas series, whenever they played at Dallas, Dallas wore white jerseys with blue stripes and OKC wore dark solid blue jerseys. Well you would think the fan color would be a white out or light blue out, WRONG, all the fans wore dark blue, same color as the OKC jerseys LOL. I kept thinking they were playing in OKC until I saw the Dallas logo at center court.
