I think that sums it up well. It is a good schedule, but the strongest several games are all away from home. The strength of schedule overall is comparable to Bradley's schedules the last couple years.

It will be interesting to see how it compares with the non-conference schedules of other MVC teams.

Nov. 25 vs. Wisconsin at the Chicago Invitational Challenge - Sears Center in Hoffman Estates
Nov. 26 BYU or Nevada at the Chicago Invitational Challenge - Sears Center in Hoffman Estates
      Dec. 3 at Wyoming
Dec. 13 at George Washington University
      Dec. 15 at Drexel
Dec. 20 home vs. Western Carolina University
      Dec. 22 at Michigan

other home games not yet finalized-
      vs. Southeastern Missouri State
      vs. North Dakota University
      vs. Northeastern

It seems likely that the SEMO game and the North Dakota game are guarantee "buy" home games. But the Northeastern and WCU games may be part of a home and home?
I like the fact that we won't have a long stretch with no basketball in the middle part of December...although last year, we didn't look too shabby after the lay-off. (vs. JSU & vs. Detroit)

I imagine we'll get a couple more games for late November (after the tourney) & early December.

If the teams listed in this thread end up who we play, here's a breakdown of these opponents' RPI from last season:

        Teams with RPI:

        Top 50 = 1 (Wisconsin)
        50-125 = 3
        126-200 = 4
        201-300 = 3
        300+ = 1 (SEMO)

Seems comparable to last season, like DC mentioned.

I also have a weighted system (newly implemented ) in which I designate 4 pts. for a Home game, 5 pts. for a game on Neutral floor, and 6 pts. for a Road game.
The avg. RPI of our 12 opponents comes out to 162.5

We'll see how the other MVC schools compare later this summer...at least according to my system.

I'll be up at Valpo during the Tourney, maybe I'll make the short jaunt to Hoffman Estates to watch my Braves! Seriously though, we need to sell out that arena and turn it into a home game and show Wisconsin what it means to be a fanatic!
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

So far a very solid schedule from a SOS standpoint. Maybe too strong? I'm all in favor of going the Tom Izzo route and getting as tough a non-con sched as you can, but I'm wondering if this is the year to do it. Just thinking out loud.

This is NOT a terribly tough schedule.
In fact, if you replace the Michigan game with a cupcake, it looks rather soft...not Redbird soft though.

The odds are vs. us next season to compete in the Valley and to make it to a note-worthy post-season tourney (though I'm confident in our potential and in Geno)

If we have a mediocre non-conf. record, at least it will prepare us for Valley play...AND it's good experience for the freshmen to play decent competition. Just thinking out loud too.

Thinking about it some more, we DO have our work cut out for us on the road. No easy games.

I don't know where it's mentioned that it's a 2-for-1 series, and don't feel like "researching," but I remember clearly that it is.
My first BU hoops game was on 12/30/1963. My dad took me to watch the Braves defeat Arizona 67-59. He helped me get Coach Orsborn's autograph before the game.

Very boring home slate IMO. Not a single team that anyone outside of heavy BBall followers would know playing at Carver this year.

I was under the impression that the series with Northern Illinois would continue. I saw somewhere on their site, when the series was first announced, that it would be ongoing, but the number of years was not given. So far, they've played three games, so it could have been a 2-for1.

Anyone have any information on this? TIA!!

Anyone with more insight on how many more home games could we possibly schedule? Any ideas about possible teams?

6 home, 4 road, and 2 neutral site games would make me think that one or two more home games would be something we'd want to get. The sexist machups are all road games. Wofford might be the premier non-con home game.

I think 12 is a good amt. of non-conf. games. And 1 more for B-Busters, right? With 13 total, I wouldn't think we'd add any more - could be wrong though, but I don't recall playing 14 non-conf. games in regular season before.

I like the schedule for the most part - the home games are not stellar, but they will give our guys experience to learn to play together in prep for the Valley season. I'm not sure how the road match-ups are sexist. I thought guys were playing vs. guys.

I'd be more worried about the home slate if he didn't have Michigan and GW and a probable MWC home game already lined up next year.
