Flynn is still a decent NBA backup and is only 21. So these may not be the worst moves the Timberwolves have ever made, and the list of worse draft picks by every team is quite long.
They seem to be lacking direction as a team. If they are stock-piling picks to trade for a veteran, then maybe some of their moves could pay off. Beasley and Randolph are similar players. The roster is a bit of a mess overall.

I understand they were highly rated. The move was universally laughed at even during the draft.

One guy who basically said don't pick me, I won't sign with you and then you pick him. Now he has played absolutely terribly in Spain, and might actually jump to the NBA.

The next guy plays the exact same position of the guy you just picked. To describe a #7 pick in a draft as a 'decent NBA backup' is exactly why it was a bad pick. Not to mention the guy you are trying to convince to come play for you, you just gave him a 20MPG reason not to come.

Now had they taken a combination of Flynn and Curry, or Rubio and Curry that year; it would have made a little more sense.

It doesn't make sense that only 4 teams with the worst record have won the lottery since 1985, no wonder bad teams stay bad in the NBA.

But the Cavs getting the first pick is great for them. Kyrie won't be the next Chirs Paul or Deron Williams, but his celling seems to be more realistically Chauncey Billups (good shooter, good passer, good leader, not fast, not necessarily great at anything.)

I agree. I didn't get to see much of Irving, but he looked like he'd make a good NBA lead guard. I don't think he'll ever be Derrick Rose, but maybe he could be John Wall.

I think the weak drafts are a result of too many NBA teams. There are too many teams and not enough stars. When you have this many kids being drafted to so many teams the field is going to look weak. Especially on a year like this year.

100% agree with you. Three teams (Raptors, Grizzles and Bobcats) have been created in 17 years, that'd spreading the talent pool very thin compared to where it had been in the 80's and early 90's (when the NBA was at it's best in my opinion.) Subtract two teams and keep the modern salary cap rules and the NBA could have parity on level with the NFL. And we all know the NBA has had a serious lack of parity in most of our lifetimes.
