Yeah, what was going on was Granger was getting calls from a former assistant coach who had a new job at New Mexico, and he was trying to coax him to leave Bradley and promising him he'd be a star at UNM.

Tell me who these Illini fans are because they apparently don't follow the Illinois basketball team I do.

They think that Brandon Paul, Richardson, Head, or true frosh Abrams can try and handle the ball with success?

      It would be a mess.

If the only thing SM could do was dribble, he would still be on the team.

I have heard Sammy's ankle is OK. Even if it's not 100%, he is much better than anyone else Weber has to play PG. I expect Sammy will play 30+ minutes a game and have a good year. I won't go as far as predicting All Big Ten, but the Illini fans will be praising him by the end of the season.
No doubt about it regarding Jackson....while Sam is good he can't carry a team by himself, his success will depend on how the rest of the team plays and hopefully quality back up at PG. If he has to play 36-38 minutes a game I see trouble for the Illini. He'll need more rest than that in my opinion for them to be successful

we have not heard the whole story -- blaming Sam for all this is not fair -- thanks to SFP who correctly sees that...

Should there be an Illini forum made?

Edit: btw that was just a joke since that is lost in the translation sometimes

Or a dedicated 'Sam the Illini' thread once the exhibition season starts and continued through the end of their season. If not, there's going to be a new Sam thread every two, three days during the season...points, rebounds, assists, that kind of stuff. I like our own guards. BradleyFans will have dozens of Sam threads, more than when he was here.

I hope he plays good and the Illini win

nice try -- but since it is so very easy to do a search on all posts and threads that even mention Sam in any way or context --
you can see that there are ONLY 5 threads since June that even mention his name...
and there's 0nly one thread in the past two months that is actually about Sam and it's this thread.

I was talking about when the upcoming season starts...there will be a thread started, probably by you, about every game he plays in for the Illini...so what I was thinking is that it would probably be better to have one thread for Sam so that we have more room to concentrate on our own younger, quicker guards

Actually Rick, we could just have a thread to update us on all of the former players and coaches that either jilted BU or were jettisoned off into Siberia by "The Administration".

There will be updates and discussions about how Sam is doing this season because a lot of fans want to know, and we have always had updates about nearly every former Bradley player who moved on and played somewhere else. There will also be posts and threads about how UC Davis is doing, so those that don't like it should get used to it and just ignore those threads.

you are excused from following any Sam threads -- nobody's going to make you read what you don't want to -- but I have enough fandom to be able to follow more than a couple guards at a time -- so I plan to continue being a Sam Maniscalco fan

                              another new article..
"Weber raved about one-year Bradley transfer Sam Maniscalco, who is eligible
immediately and will likely start at the point guard spot. Weber saw plenty of
Maniscalco prior to college, when he played on the same summer team (Illinois
Wolves) with McCamey. "He's a Godsend," Weber said. "He's a tough little guy
who knows how to play and gives us stability and leadership." Maniscalco, who
averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 assists last season for Jim Les, played on the trip at
less than 100 percent. "He's not totally healthy," Weber said. "He's still
                              recovering from an ankle injury."
