If he talked to someone here maybe he deserved a call back but if he had no chance of getting the job why waste everyones time. He didn't give us the time of day when we were recruiting him in HS. I have no problem with the way it went down. I do think Jerrance will someday make a good coach and we may wish we would have handled it differently. Time will tell.

If he wasnt considered a serious candidate then no. Im going through the same thing right now in trying to find a job. Like Braves4Life said, its life. Jerrance will get over it and will eventually get a head coaching opportunity. It wouldnt hurt his cause if Bruce let him do a little coaching instead of being mainly a recruiter.

Count me as a Jerrance Howard admirer, but given Geno's track record of winning at Kent St, I'm very happy with the decision to hire GF. Can't blame BU admin at all for wanting previous successful experience when you're making the single most important hire of your career.

Bradley was not in a position to take a risk on this hire. The next coach was either going to win or he was going to finish off this program for good. If I were Cross I would have ruled out assistant coaches too.

Great Post! This had to be an excellent hire. Recruiting wise it is looking like he is great with that. I have no doubt that Geno will turn out to be a great hire!

no brainer

The hiring of Geno Ford was a no brainer...and really in hindsight it even looks better...we hired him and there were hardly any quality recruits left on the board..and he pulls the trigger on 3 kids who in the long run will be better than the other 3 whom we had signed and they had over a year to find those 3 kids. I can only imagine what kind of kids he will get given an actual year to find them. Taphorn offer was a big start...he was the first one to offer him and he will have plenty of offers when it is said and done, but Geno got to him first. I can tell you this and you can write this in stone..he will turn this around in a hurry and Bradley Basketball will get back to where it should have been.

Bradley hired a search firm. The name of the search firm was known to the public. He could have easily contacted the search firm if he was interested and presented his "blueprint."

True, and there is a good chance he did try that. But he might have been told "thanks, but you do not have all the requirements our client is looking for", namely head coaching experience.

Jerrance became my favorite choice after I didn't think Bradley would get a successful head coach. Clearly I was wrong about that. Coach Ford was a better choice and I believe that today more than I did on the day he was hired. That being said I think you want to maintain good relationships if you can. You never know what the future holds.
