Shayok Shayok was born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario. His parents are from Africa. He played at St. Patrick HS in Ottawa, then transferred to Julian HS in Chicago. He had problems with eligibility there and his play was limited. He was going to play at the Boys to Men Academy that was run by Loren Jackson his former coach at Julian, but they closed down the program. He transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida this past year, and averaged 18 ppg and 10 rpg playing against some of the top prep school competetion in the country..

I like our recruiting class very much and think we are headed in the right direction. My hope is that Coach can do what he did last year and take a team with only 3 returning players and win the conference. We have a strong returning group of players with TB, DSE, WE and JP. The opportunity is there.
