I can still remember Sam's dad, Carl, standing in the corner with Harold McMath guarding Larry Byrd in the fieldhouse. Byrd only got 4 points but Bradley lost to the eventual NCAA runner-up.

For years there was a photo in BU press guides of Bird with McMath behind and senior face guarding Bird. Bird your right had 4 points and he mentioned this in his book. ISU still hammerd BU that evening and later that season over there. One of Birds baskets was a steal and dunk. I got spanked by the old man for booing Bird during intros.

I can still remember running around the Fieldhouse that night and ISU was late to the game going by Bird as the came in to go to the locker rooms behind the section that the students sat in and him having a cowboy hat on, I was 8 at the time but the Fieldhouse was a great place to become addicted to BU basketball.
