Jim Les hired as head coach of UC-Davis

He willl retain Kevin Nosek, who was the senior assistant under the former coach, Gary Stewart.-

On the recruiting front, Coach Les is recruiting a pretty good high school point guard Tyrell Corbin, the son of former NBA player and current Utah Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin-

Jim lands a very good point guard as Tyrell Corbin officially commits to UC Davis. As noted, Tyrell Corbin is the son of former DePaul star, NBA player, and current Utah Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin. He was also named Mr. Basketball in Utah this year.

This is a tremendous signing for a program like UC-Davis, especially at this late date. I think this may be Les' signature signing that helps to lead the Aggie program to a conference championship within the next 3-4 years. Congratulations Coach Les!

I think that is a real stretch. Jim did not plan on coaching at UCD until a couple weeks ago. And though he knows Tyrone Corbin, I do not think they are close friends. Also, at Bradley he had his point guard recruited.
