  • Illini/SIU-E/and other Exhibtion scores

In addition to BU victim, Winona State beating Minnesota, here is another Big Ten result.
From the Winona perspective, they think they kinda dominated Minnesota and did pretty well against their D-I opponents.

Illinois behind 17 from Warren Carter beat SIU-E 76-57.
The game stayed within one point until late in the first half, when Illinois pulled to a double digit lead. From there the Illini comfortably stretched the lead to nearly 20 points most of the 2nd half. Every Illini player played and scored, with ex-ISU player Marcus Arnold getting 2 points. Jamar Smith had 6 pts. and Chester Frazier had 13 both in a team high 33 minutes.

Creighton played their final exhibition and had a real battle on their hands for 3/4 of the contest.
University of Nebraska-Omaha hung tough and led at the half 32-31. It remained close, and was only a 2 point game until the final 10 minutes of the 2nd half when CU went on an 18-0 run and won 73-56.
Nate Funk had 14, Anthony Tolliver 15. Ty Morrison did not score, and in one disappointing stat, the Bluejays had 20 turnovers to only 17 assists.

    In Madison, Wisconsin
    "UW men's basketball survives scare"
trailing D-III Carroll College for most of the first half (by as much as nine) and trailing at the half to Carroll 28-25.
The game was still within eight in the final 7 minutes, but then the Badgers pulled away hitting FTs and won 81-61.

Purdue beat Wisc. Platteville 78-46 after trailing by only two at half.

And in their first regular season game, future Bradley opponent Michigan State also struggled to put away Brown 45-34 in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic at Lansing, Michigan.
That is not the halftime score, as MSU was up 26-16 at half.
The Spartans were 16-20 on free throws while Brown made only ONE FT. The game was not really decided until the final few minutes as Brown stayed within 5 points at the 4 minuite mark.
