Can I honestly ask what was wrong with the execution of the firing? I've heard this referenced as a sore spot but nobody has really spelled it out for us simpletons. Not trying to start anything just something I've been wondering. Feel free to PM me if its something that can't be posted

I'd say choice of firing is a solid D+ to a C-....JL did have injury issues he had to deal with more, it seemed, than anyone else, but in the end his conference record can't just be flat out ignored. His recruiting is something I'm worried about...we may miss it, but time will tell.

Hiring choice based on performance to date I'd say is a B+ to A-...being able to keep Remy would've bumped it to an A+. It seems he's been working hard recruiting and trying to keep some old connections that would be beneficial. Most of the team stayed and that is important also....

Now if we add in the manner in which Ford was hired.....j/k

Average would be C- to a C. This for me seems about right I wasn't happy when JL was fired but I don't feel very worried, yet, about Geno being the new head coach..as a matter of fact up to this point I'm pretty optimistic to see what he can do 3-4 years down the road.
Pretty much exactly where I'm at. Very well put.

I will say the same thing that I would say to those who automatically think this was an "A" hire (including myself because I do believe Geno will do very well here). If we don't know for sure if Ford will be a great coach here, then how do we know he will do as poorly as you two believe he will as well?

My point is, why don't we wait until the next few seasons plas out before we dismiss a new coach who hasn't even coached one game here yet?!

Well you seem to be grading Ford almost solely on how the Les firing was handled? I don't find that a fair assessment, and I believe Ford's grade should be based solely on his hiring only and his coaching potential.

And by the way, back to Les one second since you brought this up Bguy10. I don't think it was fair that Les was fired based on the injury bug he had to endure this year. Sure, his previous 8 season record played a role in the firing, but to fire someone who dealt with more adversity than most other D1 coaches is a bit harsh IMO. I would have definitely given Les one more year to see what he could do with a veteran, injury free team, but I'm also a big Ford fan and am looking forward to see what he can do this year as well. Just my two cents.

Yeah I would agree that you should grade Geno on what he has done and not how Les was fired...but did you read posts previous to mine? I was only grading the whole firing JL situation because someone else brought it up. If you notice I gave Geno himself an A-, but the overall situation for Bradley is what was being graded as average...as in I feel comfortable with Geno taking the reigns even though, as I state in my previous post, that I agree with you that Les was probably fired too soon...I didn't give his firing an F though because well he still, no matter how you look at it, didn't have an impressive conference record. And I have been one to openly admit I think a lot of it was due to injuries as well; I actually completely disagree when people say you can't use injuries as an excuse....if you can't use that a reason for poor performance what can you use? A season is utterly and permanently changed when you lose players like JC, Ruffin, AW, TB, SM, etc....if those aren't legitimate excuses I don't know which are.

In my opinion, if you're going to fire him for the first eight seasons, do it after those eight seasons.
