Who Do You Think GF Will Be Able To Add For 2011-12?
I'd guess a juco forward- maybe Corbin Thomas. And possibly a transfer or another shooting guard.
I could see this scenario but DSE is not really a PG and I think that's our biggest need. Not sure DS can cut the mustard right away. Hope so but have my doubts.DSE needs to play the 2 and not PG. IMO.
We need a point guard. Despite DS ability to handle the ball and get into the lane he is not ready. The other weaknesses in his game will keep him from getting major minutes and a starting job. Bring in a JC point guard so Stewart can develop. If we do this it would allow DSE to do what he does best at the 2 position.

I thought that Jalen Crawford was a PG. Not the case?
I think we need a Juco forward with some muscle to assist with our rebounding need. That CT kid may be a good fit for that position.
I am also in the camp that thinks DSE plays better at the 2. I would think a JC or transfer point guard would be a good add. I did go back and re-read some of the material on Crawford. I thought he was more of an off guard.
When he signed Coach Ford said, "From a basketball standpoint, he??™s very versatile. He shoots the ball well, he can make plays for others and can create and also finish plays."
And from his coach at Impact Academy...
???Jalen is a great catch for that program,??? said Impact Academy coach Andrew Moore. ???I would consider him a steal. He??™s a high-major athlete who can create his own shot combined with good point guard skills.???
So I don't know from that if he is a point guard or not. I also see a need on this team for more muscle down low.. and an outside shooter. But that's 3 needs and only 2 openings... maybe Crawford helps at the point and is also the outside shooter. But that's a lot to ask of a first year player.
We need shooters plain and simple. I have to believe since we plan to run an uptempo O we'll need guys that can handle the ball but not necessarily pure point guard like guys, at least not more then what we have. GF will have to go deep on the bench so DSE will have to handle those duties. Give me a shooter and a banger and I'll be happy.

I know I have said this before, but I have watche DS play since he was in 3rd grade, at every level, I have heard people say he is not ready for the step up and that it will take a couple of years. I also know that DS is probably reading these posts. I hope he is, because the Donivine I know, will take the doubts as a challenge and step up. saying that, i feel like we have a starting pg in DS. A back up for DS would be nice, if we get someone that DS is backing up then we really have some good PG's. Put it in the books, DS will set assist records at BU and that is what he will be known for, his scoring will be adequate and his court IQ will impress everyone.
all said, we need some BIGS that can keep up with the GENO running game

After watching video of Jalen I believe he could play either guard position because he handles the ball well, has a nice jump shot and also is a very good passer, he should be fun to watch.
