This shows a couple things. The sales staff and marketing team did a good job. The people in Peoria will buy tickets. Season ticket sales were strong.
However since Bradley doesn't release actual attendance numbers, these figures don't represent actual people in the Civic Center. It is no secret we had alot of empty seats for several games. Much lower than announced figures. Blame the weather. Blame the start time. Blame the team play/record. Blame Bush. Lots of reasons. If the NCAA kept figures for no shows we would rank high on that list as well.

honest question.
are we the only school that does this? everyone makes it sound like we are.

I don't really know but if I had to guess I would say that other schools report the same numbers (tickets sold) as we do.
I don't know what everyone else is saying. I just know we had alot of reasons for alot of people not to show up this season. Other schools have their own reasons not to show up. They could be different than ours.
I think you are right, most schools report tickets sold. There were some games this past winter when terrible weather caused thousands of no-shows at usually sold out arenas like Creighton and Wichita State, yet their official attendance for those games was about the same as all their other home games.
then we shouldn't have to bring this up like we are cheating right?

For some reason, some people like to accentuate the negative.

I agree with DA Coach that most if not all schools release the actual attendance.
But the fact is you can feel no shows when you are at the games. I personally dont care about WSU's no shows...
Only about ours, and preventing them as much as possible.

Okay, I'm not sure I quite get what your point is. But the fact of the matter is that no shows or not, and down attendance due to whatever factors, for what may be our worst season in decades we still did pretty darn good in our attendance. And assuming last year was the worst team we will see in awhile, our already solid attendance has nowhere to go but up.
Pro sports teams report tickets sold, not butts in the seats. College teams do the same, this isn't even a topic worth debating.
What's encouraging to me is that during our worst season in quite some time, we still are #56 in attendance. Imagine if we start winning? Peoria and BU is a sleeping mid major giant that could have triple the following of a Gonzaga or Butler if we'd ever win consistently.
