  • Bradley freshman Andrew Davis asks for and granted release

    to transfer

it is official and confirmation will soon be given to the press
Andrew Davis retains four full years of college eligibility but will sit out a year if he transfers to D-I,
so it is likely he will spend a year at juco then because he's a qualifier out of high school - he can then transfer directly to D-I and play 3 years more...pr if he so chooses, he can play two years at juco, or choose D-II or NAIA if he so chooses.
I would suspect his offer from Army would still stand as well.........

Best of luck to Andrew with his future endeavors.
    Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I like this part: "likely be filled by two recruits who visited this past weekend.... Jalen Crawford... Shayok Shayok." Sweet.
        My sports blog.

Neither of those 2 recruits has announced a commitment to Bradley, and other issues may delay their decisions.
          PM me for details

I like how the PJS is so quick to jump to conclusions without substantial evidence. Maybe DR meant, "I would like it to be filled by...."
Hopefully the "likely" part will not result in neither of them coming.

Shouldn't the readers have a basis for believing that it is "likely", other than taking his word for it? What info. does he have to write it is "likely"? Did he meet with the 2 recruits personally? Talk with Coach Ford?

              Thanks for that article Dave!

Wish we could have seen Andrew play a few games...
Sounds like he is making a positive move...good luck to AD

Sounds like we may get two players that everyone would like to have!

You guys crack me up...so he said "likely'...big deal...Maybe he knows something here or maybe not..but either way it's not that big of deal.
I don't understand why every word has to be scrutinized

FWIW......Kirk also used the word "likely" when he first mentioned JL being in his final days as head coach. Many figured he knew something about that. I'm not sure why it's unreasonable to believe the reporter that covers BU would know something about this.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

If we can keep RA and pick up these two players I would be pretty happy. Let's hope DR knows something we don't and these two are on board. I am surprised there hasn't been something yet on our new Ast. Coach???

Their seems to me to be more information in the Journal Star coming out from our new coach during the last month than whatever came from JL during the last few years. I don't disagree that JL and the BU program were covered in a negative way by the Journal over most of his tenure. However the job of a newspaper or a tv station is to report, whether it's in a positive or negative way. It's not to be the cheerleader for whatever sporting team they are reporting on. Here's hoping that Geno keeps the line of communication open so we can get more information about Bradley basketball. As long as he returns some phone calls he should get along with with KW and DR just fine.

Yes, we know that. But the names of many of Bradley's recruits each year were known, and many of them had threads here on BradleyFans.com.
But, despite the fan interest in that information, the newspaper almost never mentioned any of those recruits.
Geno Ford just came onto the job, he has 2 recruits in town, and already the PJ Star mentions them, and does a nice profiling who they are, and how likely they are to commit. Are you saying this wasn't possible with any of the many Jim Les recruits that we knew were being recruited?

We also all know JL liked to keep his recruiting very close to the vest, so maybe the guys at the PJS were just granting his wishes by not publicizing every recruit he had on campus.
