Neither of these recruits fit those needs. They are both athletic wing-type players, and not great shooters. Let's see what happens, but I hope fans are as discerning and critical of the GF recruits as they were with JL recruits. Somehow I believe that if it was JL who was recruiting more wing types who are't good shooters or rebounders, you wouldn't be so thrilled.

I trust Coach Ford will get the best players he can get to fill roster spots. We need many parts, IMO. However, after having players leave this late in the process, I will trust CF to get the best available guys to come to BU.
He will just have to coach em up.

The only thing I can think of is maybe with the rumored opening of a scholarship, you have the luxury of gambling with another player if you still think you can land a shooter. Crawford brings the name and Shayok brings the athleticism that could be a nice roll of the dice. But this wouldnt make sense without a shooter coming in, unless Geno is seeing something in one of the current guys he likes.
We need a shooter in the worst way before anything else. NOBODY is a shooter on the current roster. Eastman and Milos have proven average shooters so far in games, DSE has gotten better but uses athleticism more than pure shooting to score, same with TB. Lemon is not a 3 shooter, Sammy is gone, Harris is supposedly gone. Who is going to shoot 3's???? We have no one right now. That should be primary concern number one before any type of athletic players. It is a huge concern for me right now with next year's team.
Some fans have made just as strong an argument that we need a rebounder and another point guard. Who will our point guard be?
Well we got by with DD and DSE last year and DSE seemed to get a lot better at it at the end of the year. I think DSE and DS can do a decent job at point. It is better than what we have for shooters which is nothing. Also between JP, WE, TB, and some contribution from AT rebounding should be solid not spectacular. Do we know if NW will still be redshirted with what has happened?

I can't answer if these two guys are our answer to what we need but I agree with you we need a PG ,a shooter and a big. Both these guys sound very useable. I don't get the need to compare who we are recruiting or keeping with who JL was recruiting or not running off.After all we never did finish above 4th so not sure thats a good comparison. Jim is gone and we all need to let it go he isn't coming back. Can't we just let Geno do his job and stop this silly bickering.

Since this "trust" is based on nothing, it's time for blind faith in Coach Ford and whatever he does? This is curious to me considering how you treated the previous coach. If it works for you, great.
