I write this with a little somber-ness, but I think we'll be allllll-right without Sammy next season.
I think Geno has a lot to work with next season. With TB, DSE, and the supporting cast , we should be a top-half Valley team next season at the very least.
I see WE, JP, WL, JE all have better seasons - not to mention how MK, AT, AD might be used to help the team.
We are a Remy away from maybe having the best/deepest roster for next season in the Valley.
Add that JUCO recruit that was going to play for Geno at KSU, and we're talkin' Valley Champs, baby!
o.k. - o.k, I'm gettin' waaaaaay ahead of myself here.
Man - I don't think I can sleep tonight just thinkin' about the good news over the past 10 days for BU hoops!!!
Oh well, not that big a deal like you said, as I do think we have the potential to retain most everyone else for next season.

There's finally a vibe around this program that has been missing for some years now no matter what some people try to say.
So yes, I do admit that I may have been premature to think we would be in big trouble next year, but I also hoped like everyone else here that most of the team would be back. Just because I thought we would lose a lot of players doesn't mean I wanted that to happen, and I am just as happy as you are DeltaBrave that we may have a much better season than originally thought next year.

Let's celebrate the good news, and keep the good news coming, rather than calling people freak shows and making idle threats.
Onward and Upward!Onward and Upward!

Please, no more "where are the doomsayers now?" talk on this Forum, just as I wouldn't want to hear comments about where GF backers are if there are hiccups (and there can/probably will be hiccups) along the way with GF others take exception to.
No more us vs them, no more pro JL vs anti JL.....no more pro BU admin vs anti BU admin...
Right or wrong, fair or not, there is a new Coach at BU.
Time to just celebrate what JL DID accomplish at BU, and, eagerly look forward to what we hope GF CAN accomplish during his turn at BU.BUilding for the Future

I'm just wondering, did that one obscene comment that I refuse to quote have anything to do with anything? He seems like an obscure poster, so... anyway.
What happened to DC? I was hoping he'd come out in strong support of whoever the new coach would be.... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

Braves4Life - Well, I guess next year is going to just SUCK!
Bufan14 - I am incredibly mad/sad right now. If we lose all those players this year will look great compared to what next year will be. We had a chance to be something great next year, now we will probably finish at the bottom again....
AirPetey - I HATE all the JL haters. Be careful what you ask for!! The grass is not always greener on the other side!!
AE Braves Fan - If you hate losing then you better find another hobby for the next 3-4 years. -HA - it will become a full scale plummet. Maybe Joanne will be able to move down in the stands a bit or find a good camera zone seat. -This team is going to be really bad for several years when we could have just kept Les and won the conference next year.
Da Coach - The team next year will bear very little resemblance to anything we now see.
Dub - Having said that, Goodwill Industries is about to recieve a large donation of Bradley gear which I have already started sadly to box up. After the decision made today, to me this administration has transformed Bradley Basketball into something unrecognizable from the program I fell in love with.
Tornado - I am still a Bradley fan but have a bad feel for the direction all BU sports programs are headed...This is just the tip of the iceberg...

I agree with AZ BU fan though...these types of "we were right and you were wrong" posts I don't like. First of all, this mass exodus of players thing, we aren't entirely out of the clear yet and I'm not liking the karma on the board. I do realize that it is likely everyone is staying but again...we're not sure yet.

We can credit the energy and drive of Geno Ford for averting what could have been a disaster. There were several of our players, including most of the projected starting lineup next season, who were all set to transfer. We did lose Sammy, a strong candidate for the conference POY next year, and that will hurt next year. We may still lose half of the best recruiting class in a while. But fans should realize just how close DSE and a couple other players were to leaving. Geno did a great job of "recruiting" them to stay. If we had hired some of the other names we heard about, this probably wouldn't have happened. Some coaches are happy to "clean house" and encourage players to leave just to open more spots for them to recruit their own players. Thankfully, we got a coach who wants to win right away, rather than take advantage of a "honeymoon" period to rebuild a team. Let's celebrate that and hope he can recruit Remy and Sean.
