Drama involving the NC State coaching hire

several news stories now coming out....

- the new coaching hire at NC State -- in the premier basketball conference, the ACC -- went through numerous candidates
and had some interesting intrigue...before finally hiring ex-Alabama coach Mark Gottfired

- there was the story that behind the scenes, Maryland's head coach Gary Williams - who reportedly hates the NC State AD and was out to get her
was working hard secretly - to sabotage the hiring process
by calling all the candidates and trashing the AD and others who work at NC State.

- then there's the widely discussed factor that NC State Athletic Director Debbie Yow is rumored to be hard to work for --
which she even admitted yesterday in the introductory press conference for their new coach..
and Yow was once AD at Maryland and the feuding between her and GW was "legendary"...

- Then there's media people in Baltimore now saying Gary Williams has got to go if he has stooped to this kind of unethlical tactic to sabotage the hiring at NC State.

T - GW is going nowhere. I know a few corporate sponsors and every single one of the guys love GW and every fan I know of Maryland loves GW. He's not going anywhere or remotely getting canned.

The reason he's not getting the recruits you would expect from a Maryland team is because he does not play the AAU game which the Calipari and Cahoun's play. Guess what? their fan base understands and appreciates it! Bash GW for what he said 5 years ago but you out of all people should appreciate the way he conducts his business. He simply does not do any back room recruiting deals.
