  • First Post.. Good Luck Coach Ford

I just want to wish the new coach best of luck!!! I think you have a nice core of returners and hopefully you can bring in our current LOI guys or maybe a surprise or two for us. I think this year's Indiana State coach was in his first year and won the MVC Tourney (3rd regular season), so anything can happen!!! Go BU!!!

I agree.....if the core players stick around and the new staff can get some quality production from a couple other guys, then we are in very good shape. I'm very pleased to see DS on board; now Geno needs to swing through Kentucky on his way back to Peoria! Those are the two that I was mostly concerned about. I believe if there are openings on the roster, Geno will be able to fill them adequately. He is certainly set up to win his third straight conference Coach of the Year award!

Good luck in your Bradley career Geno!
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Forgot about that! Well, I hope they are able to meet as soon as possible. Better to get him here on campus with the guys and inside the practice facility.

He's a signed player so I'd have to believe he can visit RA. That is one reason you do not release a player for their LOI it gives you a bit of flexibility that other do not have.

It will be interesting to hear what is happening with other recruits as well. I have to believe NW is still coming and I'm betting SH most probably is considering a different course.

Here is the NCAA recruiting calendar-

and it is currently a dead period. There is a contact period from April 7-11 and April 14-20.
A dead period is defined as: a time when the college coach may not have any in-person contact with the prospective student-athlete or the prospect??™s parents at any time. The coach may write and telephone during this time.

I do not think he can visit during a dead period, regardless of whether the athlete has signed a NLI. I think the recruiting calendar applies to both uncommitted and committed recruits.

I guess Cpach Ford will just have to text his LOI guys a couple thousand times the next couple weeks!

Couldn't find a thread to post this in new article on espn that highlights every coaching change

                  Bradley
                  Out: Jim Les
                  In: Geno Ford
Frankly, Les should have probably bolted after reaching the Sweet 16 in 2006. He didn't and eventually got run out of his alma mater after nine seasons. The Braves have one of the more passionate fan bases in the Missouri Valley, and Ford is a solid hire who had done well at Kent State, keeping the Golden Flashes at or near the top of the MAC. The Valley has failed to garner any at-large bids the last few years, but it's still a step up from the struggling MAC. This is a step up for Ford.

Thanks. I think it was posted somewhere else, but here is the complete Andy Katz article about coaching changes-
The college basketball coaching carousel is in full swing. Andy Katz takes a job-by-job look at the hires and the to-be-filled positions.

a lot of Princeton people and Kent State people seem to disagree with Katz...
