If true, great hire by MSU. I would have liked to see BU give Lusk a chance, but after looking it over, am even more thrilled with Geno than I would have been with Lusk.

Met too PTownHawk. This is good for Missouri St. And Kent W. & Woodberry are very good assistant coaches who I've heard are more likely to stick around with this hire. Only time will tell, but I'm sure being under Painter for a while benefited him and prepared him for this position.

So far this off-season has been very good for the Valley's coaching ranks. Two great hires. Let's see what happens at WSU. They've got the money and program fundamentals to bring in another stud if Marshall leaves.

Lusk will inherit the reigning Valley Player of the Year but lose his other four starters....it'll be interesting..........

Pickens (coming back from injury), Weems, Scheer.
            Anybody else back worth noting?
Might be good to get a couple Juco guys in, or maybe just count it as a rebuilding year and get some quality freshmen who they can develop.
I think MSU will drop down to last half of the Valley next season unless Lusk can work some magic.

That 2-23 season at Dubuque is kinda scary hopefully Painter has taught him well.

Does anyone know why Paul was not more seriously considered by Bradley?
Maybe he was and we never heard -- but this one can come back to haunt us......

I like Geno, I think it was a good hire. But Lusk was my number one candidate. Montgomery was #2. Both ended up taking other jobs. For less $$$...

Has there been anything released about Lusk's contract? I haven't seen anything. I know about Montgomery's contract, but I am curious what Lusk will make.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Five year contract, financial terms not yet released, "terms still being finalized".

Maybe so, but we won't know for a few years how each of these hires pans out. And even if theoretically Geno is third in the "pecking order", he still has a high potential to accomplish a lot here. Yes, Lusk and Montgomery may come from prestigious "coaching trees", but Geno has a lot more head coaching experience and knows how to win. So we'll see how things turn out.
