Anthony Grant has his Alabama team in the championship game of the NIT with a 25-11 record. Two years ago, when he took over at Alabama, they were barely above .500, and headed downward.
Prior to taking the Alabama job, he was the head coach at VCU for 3 seasons where he averaged over 25 wins per season, finished 1st in the CAA all 3 years, and had 2 NCAA appearances and an NIT.
It is interesting to note that nearly all the significant players on this year's Final Four VCU team were recruited by Anthony Grant. So with Alabama in the championship game of the NIT, and VCU in the Final Four of the NCAA, he can be credited with at least a significant part of the credit for both team's success. Pretty impressive.
