  • Which player should benefit the most from GF's style?

I'm betting with the speed WL has demonstrated he should benefit the most from the up-tempo style. We should see plenty of substitutions so the guys on the bench should also benefit tremendously.

I also believe TB will have huge numbers. It will be interesting to see how AT, WE and MK progress.

OT - is it just me that dislikes the GF abbreviations on an Internet board I keep seeing "girlfriend" :/
So as much as I love the acronyms, I'm sticking to writing Coach Ford or Geno..

Back to the topic, I think iit is likely that DSE or WL may see the largest numbers jump.

I would agree that Lemon and DSE should fit well into an up tempo style. I also liked that Prosser said he was excited by the idea of the bigs running the floor, I get the feeling he'll get some nice opportunities as the trailer on fast breaks.

I'm hoping every BU player will benefit from GF's style.

Milos. Get him confident in that shot and let him fire away!

I'm with you. GF does not work for me. Geno is 2 extra letters.

I agree. A fresh start for Milos is exactly what he needs to regain his confidence. I also think that AT will benefit from the new style.

What if....AT or MK averaged 10 ppg+ next season?

Besides being absoloutley 110% righteous, it would also be awesome.

the two guys who played PG at KSU under Ford shot the ball plenty -- way more than most team generally have their PG shooting...
so I will say Donivine Stewart is no dummy -- he sees that he can fourish in this style.....

The more TB can shoot, the better. When he gets going, he's tough to stop.
He also can score in many ways, including shooting the 3.
You can't overlook JE either, as he usually pushes the ball and drives, and is great at finding the open man. I think he'll have a break-out season...not like 15 ppg, but will become more confident shooting, and will be an all-aound solid GUARD for us.

If WL can attack without being o.o.c., it could benefit him greatly. With the right coaches to develop his game, Walt could be pretty awesome if he sticks around.

I just watched some of the video that was posted on another thread. Geno's team looks to be a perimeter team with weak post players. So the obvious guess would be that our guards and forwards would benefit. Who knows about his running style?? Most of those teams on the videos looked really bad!
I don't know about Geno using a true running style... We'll have to wait and see on that one.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

Since we don't really have any players with well developed post play, I'd say most players on the team will benefit. But if there was one who it could be maybe detrimental to, it would be Prosser.

Prosser has shown a willingness to slow down the game, back it up and have his back to the basket.

But the good thing is he is just a sophomore, so Ford can mold him into what he needs.

Pross's strength with the new style will be getting open as other drive & dish to him, similar to what we saw at the end of last season. And he has shown a knack of getting offensive rebounds. Furthermore, I remember at the beginning of last season on fast breaks, JP hustling down the court for some tip-ins from missed lay-ups. Aside from this, he WANTS to play more up-tempo.

I just don't see us not utilizing TB in the low post with his skills. And if he works down low, he can also find an open big, like JP if he can't find a way to the hoop.
