  • Wichita St/Washington St

Well, Wichita St is putting a big time whipping on Washington St, who obviously was just happy to be in the NIT Final Four. The Shockers are up 62-30 with 8 minutes to go!

It looks like the Shockers have a great shot at winning the whole thing Thursday night.

That was a brilliant play! Score, steal, score again! hahaha
... At the end, of the storm, there's a golden sky. And the sweet silver song of the lark. Walk on, through the wind, walk on, through the rain, though your dreams be tossed, and blown. Walk on, Walk on with hope in your hearts, and you'll never walk alone!
I'm behind you 100% Bradley Braves, You'll Never Walk Alone! BEAT STATE!

That was good! Shockers are now up 75-40! Under 3 minutes to go. That margin is not quite as big as the all time semifinal margin of victory of 44 points set by DePaul in 1945. But they may get it even a bit closer before the end of the game.

Talk about total destruction of a BCS team! Great for the Valley!

Wow, last 7 NITs have been won by BCS Schools. Time for a Mid Major!!!

How bout a mid major NIT/NCAA sweep?!?!?! Then let's spend the summer dreaming the thought, "Why not Bradley?"

This mid major surge is awesome to behold.

Yeah, Wichita St could be the first team from the Valley to win the NIT since, you know who one it all 29 years ago! Of course that would be Bradley winning it all in 1982, with Tulsa winning it the previous year in 1981.

FYI, the Shockers called off the dogs the last two and a half minutes, winning 75-44. Something tells me ESPN can't be too happy with that lopsided score!

I KNEW they weren't when they started talking about the one kid from Wichita being "Bench Player of the Year" and poking fun at his academic success.

It is! Time to stick to these pundits for their lack of "expertise"!

In all fairness though, Dick Vitale who I like as a commentator but did complain about UAB and VCU's inclusion in the tournament, did make a case for St. Mary's and Harvard along with Colorado and Virginia Tech. So I don't consider him as "anti" mid-major as others on that network. I think he honestly thought that St. Mary's and Harvard had, rightfully so, better resumes than VCU and UAB. But I also can make a case for VCU and UAB, as UAB, despite the lack of quality wins, did play a tougher conference schedule than some invitees, while VCU did beat George Mason, Old Dominion, UCLA and Wake Forest.

Funny how most ignored those wins by VCU, but harped on some bad conference loses, while USC's bad losses to Bradley, TCU and Rider were hardly mentioned! But I guess finishing strong makes a big difference in the eye of the pundits, but not the selection committee!

Yeah, it's amazing how society is so skewed these days that excelling in academics is seen as nerdy or "old fashioned"!

I guess this NIT final four preview wasn't too accurate

While the college basketball world is buzzing about next weekend’s NCAA tournament Final Four in Houston, we've got a Final Four of our own right here in our backyard, competing for the National Invitation Tournament championship.

"Alabama's defense is strong enough for the Crimson Tide to prevail over Colorado, while Klay Thompson has a big game in leading Washington State over Wichita State."

Klay Thompson had 6 points while shooting 1-9.

^^^They're just jealous cos they sat in the bleachers and never played at THE GARDEN!

I hope when that kid watches the game, he knows that us out here in "no competition flyover land" (BTW, We've got three of the final six spots guaranteed, sooooo) are happy that his team is representing the Valley and Mid Majors so well and we're ecstatic that he got to play at the GARDEN!
