Does Coach Ford tweet?

coaches that tweet want their tweets seen and followed widely --
it is one of the few ways they can communicate pretty freely and even be seen by recruits,
that the NCAA has not regulated tightly!

Not regulated tightly...YET!

Very much agree... But I wonder how the NCAA could regulate a coach's twitter account short of banning the use of twitter altogether. In the past, I have seen some twitter accounts by coaches such as Tom Crean that I know were complete BS when I read them. I stopped following Crean on twitter because of that.

Actually -- although there are no special rules regarding tweeting --
all tweeting is covered by and regulated by the same NCAA rules that say a coach cannot say certain things in public -- whether tweeting or commenting on TV or to the press..

such as...but not limited to...
any details on any unsigned recruits, or any info that might be used for or interpreted as trying to improperly recruit or influence recruits or gain unfair advantage with recruits...

So this is why some coaches stay a million miles clear of even the perception of cheating and DON'T use twitter...while others try to toe the lines and not break any NCAA rules but use twitter to keep their name out there and sell their institution and program........

Ok... We all know what the rules are... But the reason I stopped following Tom Crean on Twitter, is that he tweeted how thrilled he was to have Snoop Dog on campus for a concert that night. I called BS on that one! He is still promoting IU, but in a different way.....

Snoop helped ISU land JW.

I don??™t know if Coach Ford has a Twitter account. I do know that his former team, the kids he referred to as ???family??? as week before he left, found out about his signing at Bradley via Twitter. Maybe his agent tweets for him?

It's the way of the sports' world. I would have preferred that GF said a farewell to his team before leaving. I guess we'll be in the same boat if he leaves BU for a better position, and we'll probably feel the same way.
We don't know the whole story either, but it doesn't put him in a good light.

Just some thoughts before I put this behind as we begin the new era at Bradley. I don't want to quench the excitement that all of us have been longing for since the Sweet 16 season.

What matters now is how he conducts himself while at BU, represents the university, and we can only hope he leaves on good terms with fans, admin., and most importantly, to the student-athletes, after a very successful tenure as a Brave.

All the best to Kent St. as they move forward. Their fans are loyal to the program just as we are to BU. We have been sour too...it's ALSO the way of the sports' world.
